've been trying to find a keyboard and mouse. these things i use everyday and most of the time. i'm always fascinated by how folks don't seem to care very much for things that they use almost constantly, and then spend large sums on stuff they hardly touch. well, a keyboard and mouse are pretty much up there when it comes to things i want to get right.
the mouse is my biggest problem because i hate them. i had a wacom tablet and pen i liked, but dropped the pen behind my desk. i guess i'll have to mount a rescue attempt, but it's a big job. my desk weighs a ton and is jammed and unmovable. so first i thought i'd sort the keyboard. i read all sorts of reviews, spoke to lots of people. then i found it. and it is good, very good. it's a pricey 100, but worth it (see above). it's bluetooth and never loses connection. it comes with a dongle so that you don't have to worry about configuring anything. it works wonderfully on ubuntu straight out. it's flat and the keys don't rise up like the giants causeway. the action is nice. the delete key is super long, which is very useful. there's a touch sensitive volume control slider, which saves me a click and a drag, and a mute button. there's also a small touch pad that works so well for it's size that i find i don't need a mouse after all. it even enables you to scroll up/down and left/right by using a circling motion around the edge. there are two left mouse buttons, one below the pad and one on the left of the keyboard so that you can use two hands. did i say that it looks beautiful? well i'm happy anyway.
Perfect for the PS3 March 22, 2007 12 out of 15 found this review helpful
What more can I say that the title doesn't? This keyboard and trackpad combo is absolutely perfect for the PS3. For firmwares less than 1.6 you need the USB dongle, but 1.6 and above - it just works. The trackpad works great, and the styling is like it was made for the PS3. The fact that you can use it for your PC as well is a bonus!
the world sexiest keyboard January 28, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
in short this piece of hardware wouldn't look out of place with an Apple logo!
for the home media user like myself this is perfect, no need to be balancing a mouse on your knee, and it looks the business sat in its charge stand next to my TV.
logitech are renowned for their innovations in hardware design, i myself own a number of their products and have never had any problems. although this is an incredible thin keyboard (approx 1cm) it is in no way flimsy, there is literally no bend in it at all, but still it isn't heavy.
the thing that impressed me the most was a battery life, on 90% charge the driver software is saying 54 days of battery life!!!
PROs. battery life weight construction look the feel of the keys 4 programmable function keys (in fact all of the function keys are customisable but do have preset logos for a general purpose, media email, home, phone and search. compatible with the PS3
CON (just the 1) the touch pad isn't perfect, its a lil too small compared to my laptops and it being at the side is strange to get used to, also the scrolling seems far too unresponsive. but don't get me wrong its still good just not perfect when compared to my HP laptop.
Class Keyboard January 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just received keyboard. What a class bit of kit! The construction of this product is second to none. Plug'n'play no need to install drivers if you don't want to. The keys are very nice and smooth to use, no problems with accidental wrong key pressing, unlike some. The keyboard works well on your lap or on a desk. Touchpad allows pointer to move in all directions from end to end in one movement with no problems. The drivers that come in the box are well out of date (Ver.3.3) you are better off downloading the latest ones from the logitech site (Ver.4.24) All I can say is this the best keyboard I have ever owned, the design looks and feels like B&O Well done Logitech!
