Dive into tropical waters and discover the life aquatic, a life of nature, beauty and intrigue. In Endless Ocean, you are the guest of a tranquil sea filled with creatures so unique they must be experienced up-close. More of an experience than a game of any sort, Endless Ocean gives you the freedom to explore underwater locations, searching for fish to photograph and place in your log, or simply take a relaxing swim among the inhabitants of the sea. You'll be able to directly interact with some species, using the Wii Remote to touch members of the undersea community. Come face-to-face with such animals as angelfish, penguins, walruses and dolphins. Whilst underwater, you can even find lost ruins and secret diving locations. The Wii Remote's pointer capabilities are used to navigate through most of the game, whether it's directing the ship to a location on a map or directing the diver which way to swim. When you want to interact with ocean life, you'll simply point at it and then press the A Button. In addition to searching your vast waters, you can share Friend Codes with a friend and explore his or her sea via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Dive together and share in an adventure like no other.

 Not a shoot 'em up, and no Sims in sight! January 13, 2008

If you try explaining this game to other people over a pint, it just sounds dull. However, if you want to lounge on your sofa and pootle about trying to find things in the sea, with the soothing sound of Scuba breathing and thats all, this is your thing. I had low expectations, but am really enjoying this game and the kids are starting to get into it too.
The basic set up is you are a diver on a boat and have a big ocean to explore. Every time you see a fish (or bigger) you can get to know it by stroking it, and it goes in your Marine Log. The simplistic idea of the game is to complete your Marine Log with all the species - some 40 pages of fish and others....
Behind this simple task, there are random tasks thrown at you via email. These usually involve exploring a specific area, or searching for a specific bit of treasure, or taking other divers out. Each one of these gets you a reward of some description, usually a bit of equipment, which can help you with the Marine Log thing, or just general enjoyment. For instance, I just got a camera - so can take pictures of me swimming with a Sperm Whale.
There is a story behind it too, which makes it more interesting. Your boat buddy has a chequered past which she outlines to you over time, and that generates stuff for you to do too.
I feel a bit sad raving about this game, but it genuinely is excellent. The graphics are good and you end up becoming a bit obsessed about how you are going to find your next Shark, or whether you can find the mermaid's grotto. And as most other reviewers have said, when you get in from work and the kids have gone to bed, its a great way to just turn off and emerse yourself in what is just a very laid back world of bubbles and "Humphead Wrasse".

I have a PLaystation 3 & a Wii, but after a stressfull day at work this is what I want to play as it makes me feel instantly relaxed.
The graphics are amazing and it basically is as close to a diving experience without getting wet!
As said before there is a huge map and many creatures and objects to discover so you won't get bored.
I paid 200 for my Wii and even if I don't buy another Wii game it would have been worth it for this.

After reading the reviews of Endless Ocean on Amazon I decided to purchase it and I'm glad I did.
My expectations for this game were pretty high as a result of the reviews I'd read and I'm pleased to say I haven't been disappointed at all.
Mastering the controls is fairly easy thanks to the on-screen help tips so it's a game that should be fine for all ages & experiences.
The graphics are impressive with some very nice scenery to be found above and below the water. The mellow music & sounds compliment the former perfectly & make this game a great choice for those wanting to escape from the stresses of everyday life.
There's a huge amount of places to explore / tasks to do and although there is a storyline to the game you'll have no shortage of time to discover the wonders on offer in the aquatic World if you wish to do so. That for me is one of the games biggest positives, the sheer amount of freedom that you're given. Most games seem to restrict your movements to a fairly small area but thankfully Endless Ocean isn't one of them.
If you do decide to get this game it'll keep you entertained for a very long time.

This is my second game for the Wii and, I've got to say, it's great!
You make your own charater to play in the game. As you progress in-game you unlock new helmets, suits and many other diving items.
Once in the game you start with a tutorial. This is really useful as the instructions in the booklet weren't very clear. Start off moving in different directions and swimming to destinations. To swim in this game you hold down B (the back button), which makes you kick you're legs and start swimming and then to move in directions you move the Wii remote (and this is easier when you move you're whole body too). Once you get the hang of this it becomes easy and you will soon be doing backflips in the water!
Once past the tutorial a lady on your boat will explain to you how everything works and how to feed fish in the sea and discover more and more facts about them, eg stroking fish and being close to them.
You will recieve Mail on your Blackberry telling you what to do next. Whether this is taking a local out for a swim or entertaining tourists or doing research about the sealife. And the more and more you do the more and more you unlock on deck. Searching the sea for hidden artefacts and shipwrecks is very fun. Sail to any part of a vast ocean and explore there and every different part has different fish and sponges. After a while a dolphin starts to follow you around - you can train him!
The graphics are stunning. Absolutly amazing! And the soothing and calming music is very good.
10/10 I garentee you will love this!

I have only had it a few days so it could lose its interest but I think this is a great simulation of the best diving experience you can have. Its still better to do the real thing but if you cant then this is a good way to have fun and pretend. It has real educational value with various levels of information on each creature along with their common and latin names. It takes some of the interaction elements from Nintendogs when getting close to sea creatures to great effect.
There is a lot to do and see and play with even though it moves at a slow pace. You do lose time out of nowhere. Getting into a peaceful/relaxing trance is easy to do with this game. This is exciting and emotional so long as you're not in a excitable mood and have time to relax on your hands. If you get bored or wish for a more agressive experience then its your own fault. Just chill out.
The attempt at simple controls are perfect for the game as the limitations imposed by having to move using only the onscreen cursor means you move, float and change direction as loosely as you might really swim in sea. There seem to be currents pushing you around and structures that loose you your orientation. I have been having a great time seeing, hearing and interacting with the world and rarely noting the beautfully balanced and sedate sense of purpose and simple control. You forget about how you're interacting.
Everything is one handed, allowing you to treat the game as a group activity, passing the remote about leisurely. The fact that you find yourself in many situations where the nature of the game mechanics allow you to be at rest, watching the camera follow a creature without the need for interaction means you will be talking amongst your friends/family. You'll find loads of moments where the game presents you with a great view of the life presented in the game. You will be glad of a game that is trying to replicate a great sea life TV documentary rather than a violent alien world.
The representation of the marine life and environment are very well created and animated. There appear to be loads of creatures to find, interact with and teach. I have made many friends which I was saddened to leave behind with I had to resurface.
