Quality April 8, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I think this game is quality you must have a black and white Television to say its not very good. The graphics are on it are one of the best and to be honest whether 39.99 or 24.99 its worth every penny
It Depends Whose Playing September 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
At first i played the demo - just liked the old school play - but once i purchased for about 16 - and tried the online play - i was really disappointed - forgot about online play - there is something very wrong here - either the designers were working part-time with no holiday pay - or they thought this was really funny - better to have omitted the online play and sold a old classic
nevertheless i'm sure they realised this - so i am thinking - there are a lot of people who either colour blind or just think it is meant to be collected as a souvenir of what ps3 does not represent
otherwise funnily i was happy - playing ps3 games so far has been mind blowing on my illyama 24" 1080p (cheapest monitor around with 3 years onsite warranty - 260 inc vat & deliver - misco.co.uk)
so it was happy playing something this backward - if it was over 15 quid - i defn would not have bought it - but it will always be here as nice contrast & reminder of what we have left behind -
hard to find these clasics
Seems a fun game February 9, 2008 4 out of 14 found this review helpful
All the other reviews Ive seen on here seem overly negative. I also played all the other games in the Conflict series and Ive enjoyed them all. I have always played it with a mate of mine. To be honest I never really saw the point of having two other characters there that basically acted like gun turrets that you placed where you like. That seemed a lot less tactical to me. This one has two player tactics and gets rid of the two extra men. From playing the demo it seems like theres still plenty of tactics in this game. Where you position yourself and what tactics you use for flanking etc looks like its still going to be important. The difference is you arent bringing two robots along with you that do all the fighting for you. I think the changes are good and it looks like a lot of fun, although the graphics dont look as next gen as some other games Ive played.

Play with a friend. February 18, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Single player, this game is a nightmare. There's nothing worse than having a computer controlled team-mate to worry about while you're trying to shoot bad guys and i'm not really a fan of the whole squad based control thingy anyway. I used the heavy gunner (Lang) for 90% of the missions and my orders to the sniper (Greaves) consited of 'Stand there and dont get shot' most of the time, Every now and again i'd use him to pick off one or two enemies before charging in with Lang. I would sooner just have one character and be able to switch between a machine gun and a sniper rifle than mess about ordering another character around.
On the other hand, i had tremendous fun with the co-op campaign mode. You realise there is a lot more to some of the missions that a human team-mate provides as you can tell them exactly what to do, instead of some ambiguous squad command. I cant vouch for the online mode as i played it split screen.
If you happen to have a mate who'll play this with you, i can highly reccomend it, it's great fun. But for the love of god don't buy it for the single player campaign, if you're into the whole squad thing buy Rainbow Six or something. (Or if you really, really, really like first person sooters.)
