Set in the near future, Frontlines: Fuel of War asks the plausible question `what would happen if our oil reserves were about to run out? As man kind is starved of one of its most important resources two super powers face off over the last reserves in intense futuristic warfare. Starting on the oil fields of central Asia this game takes players across the globe and right into the heart of Moscow itself.

Created in collaboration with a team of military advisors this game features over sixty different weapons and vehicles all based on real world technology being developed by the modern military. Players will be able to take the war to their enemy using everything from guided smart bombs and remote control combat drones to the good old fashioned assault rifle. The unique Frontline mechanic employed in this game ensures that the gameplay is intense and fast-paced at all times as well as giving players the freedom to explore the maps fully.

Featuring a gripping and immersive single player storyline spanning eight vast missions and an exciting multiplayer mode for up to 32 players on Xbox 360 and 64 on PC featuring a unique role and load-out system allowing players to customize their character to suit any situation making Frontlines Fuel of War a simply unstoppable force.

Frontlines Fuel of War: Special Edition features an exclusive hardback art book. You will also receive a limited edition t-shirt as well as the official Frontlines: Fuel of War soundtrack which lends its individual sound from a mash up of New Metal, Electro beat and orchestral tones. Just when you thought that was enough, you get a poster thrown in for good measure.

5 out of 5 stars Nice Variety   January 8, 2008

The first project for Kaos Studios (a division of THQ founded by veterans of Trauma Studios, creators of Desert Combat and Battlefield 2 R&D projects), Frontlines: Fuel of War uses the advanced Unreal 3 engine for futuristic, intense fights in an open-world battlefield. In this all-too-bleak future of constant wars over natural resources, two sides compete for global supremacy: the Western Coalition (the United States and the European Union) and the Red Star Alliance (Russian/People's Republic of China). The game's nonlinear single-player campaign has players advancing their side's frontline into enemy territory with more than 60 vehicles and advanced weaponry that includes everything from next-generation assault tanks to experimental RC drones. T o me it was this variety of different vehicles and weapons that really took my attention. The only bad thing that I actually found in the demo was that there doesn't seem to be anyway to take actual cover behind terrain and blind fire. but due to this it actually kept me pressing forward rather that hiding till the heat died off a little.

5 out of 5 stars 360 FPS in No Hype But Awesome Game Shocker!!!!   March 4, 2008

I'm glad all you whiny people don't like the game - it means there might be some half decent people playing on Live, rather than foul mouthed half wits.

This game is fantastic fun. I honestly don't know what some of the reviewers on here base their comments on. It's exciting, innovative, intense and above all FUN!!!

Might not have the eye candy of Halo 3, COD4 etc, but in gameplay terms it wipes the floor with them - online and off. Most fun I've had on my 360 for a LONG time and at 29.99 for the SE, you'd be nuts not to give it a go.

I bought the special edition of Frontlines for a cool 29.99, bargain. I don't play online but offline this game is still a blast in more ways than one! I highly recommended this game even though they are a few similar games out on our great 360 console, too much of a good thing.......nah i don't think so! Buy it, enjoy it.......

5 out of 5 stars Demo is excellent!!   February 11, 2008

If you've played the awesome Battlefield 2 on PC ( not 360 version , which was messy and really not that good )it runs very much like that. BIG maps!! Nice easy vehicle control , the helecopter was great fun. The street battle was great with the remote control units ( the mini helecopter is brilliant too and secretly flying right behind a sniper who thinks they're safe is the coolest!!! ) really adding to the game. Basically left me wanting to play more ( and leave COD4 alone for half an hour ) All in all a great free download, here's hoping the real game is as good.

Okay, the single player was very average; possibly 2 or 3 stars. The mutliplayer is incredible though - i actually prefer it to Call of Duty 4. It seems they've combined battlefront 2 and call of duty 3 and 4! Definitely worth a try and one of the best demos out for ages.
Like another reveiwer said - great draw distances etc but also it's tactical and fun to play!
Oh and everyone that likes this should try out Shadowrun! Its the best : )
