Great Battlefront Fun! October 20, 2007 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
WOW, what a great game. I got this game for 25 and started playing it as soon as i got it. This was definetly a better game than battlefront 2 by miles. What i really loved about this game is that you can customise you're own characters from the rebel alliance, galactic empire, republic and CIS! You can equip them with different guns, explosives and items such as jet packs and stealth suits. When you choose a colour for your characters clothes, you're whole squad turns that colour, including any vehicles on your team! Overall a brilliant game, a must have for any star wars fans!

Well considering the psp original battlefront was dissapointing and lethal alliance was a bit poor, This game is brilliant, new maps add to new experiences of the game and the customization of the game is superb. Better graphics, and shooting techinques round off a superb game.
All in all like the other battlefronts and star wars games youll love this. Buy this now for a truly gret star wars expirence.
Best Star Wars Battlefront game. October 31, 2007 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a fantastic game. If you've played the previous Battlefront games than you'll find this immediately familiar. It is more of the same but the additions to the gameplay make this the best out of the three. The campaign mode is def the best out of all 3 games. The story is great and the cutscenes are surprisingly well done. I loved the animated graphic novel looks. There are few famous faces like Han Solo, Boba Fett and IG 88. The story is set between episodes 4 and 6. Your squadron is responsible for all the rebel black ops that went on in the background of the films.
The gameplay is very good. One of the new additions is the customisation of your character. You can change completely how your character looks in each of the factions. You can change the colour scheme, species and armour. Unfortunately you cant have a human head on a wookie body lol. There is no pre set troop types in this game. All of the weapons and equipment are sorted in a store and credit system. Each item has a credit value. This makes it fair so if you decide to have a jet pack and a rocket launcher you will have to make sacrifices in other areas. You can change your equipment at any of your bases. So if you start a stage with a rifle but need a rocket to take down an AT-ST just pop over to one of your bases and switch it. The controls are pretty good but need getting used to. I had to use the alternate control scheme as its closer to games like Warhawk. When targetting enemies you dont have to aim too acurately, just in the general area as the auto aim will do the rest. The in flight controls work well and the lock on feature is great for keeping track of fighters. Remember to disengage the lock if it loks like you are going to crash. The online side is great and is what this game is made for. All in all its a great Star Wars game. There is still lots I havent talked about like Galactic Conquest and Heros. I would def recommend it to any Star Wars fan and gamer.
There They Are Blast Them... October 20, 2007 13 out of 16 found this review helpful
lets face it, the original battlefront on PSP wasnt all that great. It was just a driect port from the console versions which you probably all ready had. Aiming wasnt that great too with the PSP controls and there seemed to be a lot missing from it.
Renegade Squadron is a step in the right direction. A new auto aiming system helps you actually shoot your enemies while new maps bring in a little freshness. But its the customization that really is great. Pick your weapons, your look, and your accesories and change them in game to. An actual story brings an all new and quite good campaign.
Apart from that it can get repetaive with the pick your side and fight it out until the end and some times the controls let you down, like tha auto pilot for star fighters, so you can concentrate on gunning. While it allows you to chase your enemy watch out as it will quite happily plow you into the side of a star destoryer or rebel corvette.
All in all its better than the original and well worth a look and better yet, you have not already bought it on a console! Its rarity a psp original. So pick your alligence and prepare for some good old fighting Star Wars style.
In a galaxy, far far away....... November 23, 2008 Good game, good graphics and good gameplay. Also you can choose weapons for you're character and accseries like a jet pack. Plus you can even customize you're own character!!! But thats not all, you can be kit fisto!!! How rare is that!!!
The only reason i gave this four star is because i completed the campain in 1 hour and i'm only 11 and not an experianced gamer so it can be too easy at sometimes but it has a good story line in the campain.
