Anyone who says Mario kart 64 is better than this is absolutely crazy!

i think this is one of the best racing games of all time , once u fisnsh it with adventure one u think the game is over but it gets more exciting as there is an even harder mode to play with reverse tracks , amasing game for the N64 , i still play this game because i thinks its incredible and its very difficult to cmplete the game it will take u years.

Diddy Kong racing is a fantastic game. It is maybe ever so slightly outdated now but you will still be able to play for hours on end having tremendous fan. It has good graphics and good playability. There are 10 characters 2 of which are secret. One of the secret characters TT is genuinely hard to get and you will be fighting for ages ti get him. Great multiplayer fun as well. It would be good also if you could sell another fantastic racing game star wars episode one on amazon.co.uk marketplce.

The game has top quality graphics and it also has a wide variety of different scenery in the different levels. It can be both a single player and a multi player game. The aim is to beat the evil Wizpig who is invading the peacefull island where this game is set, this gives the player something to aim for.I really would recomend it to people of age 3 to about 50 it is amazing.

This is among the few N64 games that I still play.
I always preferred it to MarioKart 64 because it had a faster feel to it. Also there is a much more substantial single player mode. The main mode is the Adventure, you have to earn balloons by winning races to unlock more areas and courses. Also you can drive around the area looking for secrets and where to go next which is nice too.
There are different locations like the snowy area and the watery area, they all consist of 4 race courses, but that's not all. After beating all 4 levels you have to race a boss which is pretty tough. Then you have to do the same levels collecting 8 coins and still winning the race, after that you race a much harder version of the boss. The boss races seem impossible the 1st time, but you'll do it eventually (and be very satisfied and proud of your achievement!). There is also a key hidden in one of the levels of each world that opens a secret battle level.
You get a balloon for each race you win, which allow you into later worlds.
That's the main game structure, but there is more to it as well, the levels can be played with multiple vehicles too. Different levels are suited to different vehicles so you can't always use all 3, but often you can choose between the 3 vehicles(-car, hover, plane) to use on the level. Also there is a very addictive Time Trial mode where you can race against a ghost of TT the clock, or by yourself.
There are secret characters to unlock, and even a secret world, but the game is really hard towards the end. There is also a Trophy race where you race through all 4 tracks and must have the highest total score to win.
The other mode of the game is Tracks, which is where you go to just pick a track to play that you've unlocked in Adventure. This is where you'll go on multiplayer.
The multiplayer is not as good as MarioKart's, but it is competent and fun for a while.
I can recommend this game as it'll absorb you for plenty of time. Despite it's cute look it's very hard, I never thought I'd beat Wizpig, but after you do there is alot more game after which is incentive to continue trying!
The music is chirpy and catchy too, and the graphics still look fine despite the fact that the GC/XBox/PS2 are soon giving way to the next generation of consoles.
Hopefully there will be a port of this for DS!
