Amazon.co.uk Review

It's the game that never should've worked. Normal licensed games are usually bad enough but the game of the toy of the film? Clearly the Force was with developer Traveller's Tales though because Lego Star Wars I and II were huge critical and commercial hits that showed that not only could licensed games be good but that titles aimed at kids and the family could be just as innovative and entertaining as any other. Clearly not wishing for any of the new consoles to miss out on the fun this is a compendium of both games with a bunch of new extras thrown in on top.

Together the two games cover both the prequel and original trilogy, with each film given six separate levels of its own, one of which is vehicle based. The rest of the levels though are deceptively simple action adventures with a built-in co-operative mode that anyone can join in and leave whenever they want. The combat is simple enough that anyone can play and you never really die, leaving the most complex part of the gameplay the always cleverly designed puzzles.

For this special version of the games extra levels have been added in (including the Zam Wessell chase from Attack of the Clones) as well as new bonus missions, ten new bounty hunter missions and the ability to play any of the characters in any of the levels. Add in a new online co-op mode for the PS3 and 360 and this really is the complete saga.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent game for the DS   December 2, 2007

This game is extremely well suited to the DS (unlike most of the others allegedly designed for it).

- Once you've passed the first chapter of Episode I, all episodes are unlocked. No getting stuck and having nothing to do!

- The mini games mean that at least as much use is made of the bottom screen as the top. There're also mini stylus games throughout the main gameplay.

- Simple system for operating your characters and you can swap characters to use different powers both in story mode and in free play.

- It literally is impossible to die permanently. You lose lego credits if you die, but once you get to 0, you're just reborn automatically. Also doesn't matter if you kill your partner by mistake!

- The free play mode means you can play as pretty much any character you like (provided you've bought them at the bar). I'm playing as Count Dooku at the moment. Awesome. And yes, you can play as Yoda! Although Han's backward blaster firing has to be the coolest thing ever.

- Although the levels aren't that challenging to complete, you can go back over them in free play mode to find the mini game bricks and other extras with other characters.

This is an involving, well though out game with lots of mileage and little frustration potential. Totally suitable for all age groups and abilities.

Oh, and you can destroy Jar Jar in the Cantina. That's got to be a winner..!

5 out of 5 stars Only one of the best games DS ever...   January 12, 2008

As the title of the review suggests, this is probably one of the best games for DS, aside Nintendogs, Mario Kart, Super Mario Brothers and Animal Crossing. This is a fun, challenging game that requires thinking and fast reactions, ok, so the graphics aren't brilliant the secuirity panel minigames are quite hard. But apart from these two annoying things, the game is brilliant. I have played the PS2 version but this is different. When I first got it my sister hated the look of it, but now i have trouble prising it from her grip. I have four things to say about this game:
1.Buy this game.
2.If you get stuck on the deflection minigame (I did) just practice alot (This worked for me.)
3. On the level named cloud city trap, the red brick is in the chandeleir in the room with the table in it , you have to shoot it to get it out. I put this hint here because that red brick was the hardest to get.
4. Buy this game.

Thanks for reading.

It has the same pedigree as the previous lego star wars games, thsi time it encapsulates all the episodes combined with all the fun of lego. Highly recommended, this is a fun, well thought out action game, a stand out title for the ds.

This game is a must for any Star Wars fan. I like the way you can use different characters and the fact that you don't "die" and consequently become stuck on a level. I also like the way once you have completed the first level all the other films are accessible.
My favourite things are the wee Lego scenes from the film - very funny!
The sound effects and music are of a good quality, unlike some games.
A cute, comic game that offers flexible gaming.

Absolutley full of mayhem Two lego star wars connected together to save you from going from 1 game to another

The minigames are the best ways to get studs/money on 1 minigame i got 114.000 studs in 1 game but it is hard even mega hard to beat my highscore if you beat it make a rewiew about it i ve completed the game

The corses are a bit different to the old 2 but its still double the fun!
