Buzz - Now without the tangled wires =D July 4, 2008 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Buzz is back to its best. The only real problem i have is the online only has a small amount of questions.
First off the best thing about it is the wireless controllers. Now i don't have to spend 5minutes before hand untangling the wires before i start.
I've also been on the PS store and theres already a few packs to download for cheap prices, so the amount of questions will only increase.
Its also been confirmed that a patch will hit this month giving it trophy support.
Very good, but flawed July 4, 2008 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This is another fine game in the Buzz canon, though it's not perfect. The main flaws are:
1. The online quizzes are only 8 questions long. Actually, this isn't as bad as it first seems; the length is something you get used to; but the largest flaw is that you can't link together several quizzes to form a lengthy one. Sometimes you're in the mood for a 100 question quiz, but you have no choice - it's only 8 questions from online content.
2. Another annoying flaw with the online mode is that there's no quick-start - you have to go through the name/buzzer/character options each time. As the quizzes are so short, this quickly becomes tiresome.
3. In offline mode, there's no choice about the length of game or difficulty of questions.
4. There are few options - no QuizMaster, no Quick Quiz
Having said all that, it's the usual wonderfully addictive Buzz, and the quality of online quizzes is surprisingly good so far... though not perfect: Pluto is not a planet!
I've heard rumours of patches to improve Buzz - whether these will fix the flaws, I'm not sure. If they do, this could be the PS3 game with the longest lifetime of all. As it is, it's merely very good indeed.
Next gen Buzz July 7, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Firstly if you've played Buzz before on the PS2 and enjoyed this game is for you..
The wireless controllers are great.. That are AA battery powered (batteries included) and they are a breath of fresh air..There is even a bad included to keep the controllers in between games.
The game itself is much like the other games although there are a LOT of questions included on the one disc. So be prepared to fumble even your best subjects;).
Buzz is best played with other people and is a great game to play with friends and family. The new version also features a multiplayer (sofa vs sofa) game which allows you to play against up to 3 other players over the internet.
Not much to be said about the single player game.. Good for practice I guess.
My only gripe with the game is the character/naming options which seem to be unloved and I'm well bored typing in my name every time I use the game.
Great fun for the Family and Friends July 8, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Like the title says.
On another note, one guy wrote "but the largest flaw is that you can't link together several quizzes to form a lengthy one." He was talking about the quizs made by the Buzz fans, but you can, you go to My Buzz, and just Start The Game and you have a choice of 4 each round of any quizs made by normal people.
Fantastic July 10, 2008 This is a fantastic game which builds on everything the old buzzes were. It is well made, looks great and is easy and fun to play. There are a variety of rounds to choose from and the addition of extra questions online works superbly. The online sofa vs sofa mode where you play against other people online you get more than 8 questions and a couple of rounds and works really well, and is geat fun to play. The mybuzz questions banks that people create that can be downloaded for free are only 8 questions long. however having sat up with my girlfriend playing these for a couple of hours it works really well. You dont get too bored of a subject and there are so many to choose from and its so quick and easy to start a new quiz its works perfectly. overall a fantastic game that people of all ages and types can enjoy. Only one let down i can think of is that it could do with a few more round options, though possibly these will come with upgrades downloaded in the future.
