5 out of 5 stars Excellent.   August 4, 2007

I had looked at a number of charge units for the Wii console but decided to hold out till this one was released in the UK. The unit was released in the States prior to UK release and seemed to get mostly excellent reviews (www.amazon.com). Had it up and running now for about a week and is doing a great job. Wii-motes are always charged up and had no problems with them sitting correctly in the unit. If you look at Nyko's website you'll also see that they already have available in the States additional battery packs and compartment covers which means that if you have more than 2 Wii-motes you can buy these converting all your Wii-motes to rechargeable units without having to buy an additional charger, seems good to me ! Hopefully these will become available in the UK......dont see any reason why they shouldn't.

I bought these after reading the last review, as I suspect I was buying a small fortune in batteries. Well worth the money, and looks brilliant. I had a couple of issues getting the remotes in properly (hint: place the remote on the two pegs, then let it drop back onto the pins), but overall it's been an excellent purchase.

What a godsend! No more hunting through drawers etc for the last two AA batteries half way through a game. Battery units fit perfectly (love the grips) and charging time, after the first couple of charges, is minimal! If you're looking for a rechargeable solution to your Wii Woe's this is the one to go for.

5 out of 5 stars A fantastic addition to the Wii   January 3, 2008

I bought one of these not long after getting my Wii last year. The battery packs are a snug fit, but it works a treat and my wii-motes now never seem to run out of power! Couldn't really ask for better!

We bought this docking station because Gamestation had 2 sorts and this was the one which had its own battery-things included although it was a touch more expensive.

We have never had a problem with it, it charges quickly, the batteries last for ages whereas before we were going through loads of cheapo batteries! It matches the colour of the wii and the battery-covers are rubberised so they are non-slip which is great.

The only thing which I have only recently noticed as a slightly possible hindrance is that it does need its own plug socket which can be a bit of a pain because our wii is in the living room amongst the tv, dvd player, vcr (yes I still have one!) and cable box so there are lots of wires but it just means it can be plugged in when the wii isn't being used and kept with their charge until needed.

I will probaby end up putting mine on here to sell soon though because for no reason at all my girlfriend has just decided to go out and buy a new charging station which plugs straight into the wii so there is no need for an extra plug socket. BUT it hasn't come with it's own batteries so we have to go out and buy new rechargeable AAA batteries for each wii-mote, it will only charge when the wii is in standby mode which I believe defeats the object and considering we can't keep our wii on standby between uses, we have to turn it off at the plug because it throws a wobbly and we need to reboot it anyway, I can see the situation getting beyond annoying.

I prefer this one, it's always worked, works well with my temperamental wii and is worth the extra money. All I can say to those who's have died - just take it back and get a replacement and if that doesn't work get a refund, but you will always get the odd few that don't work - one of the drawbacks of technology
