Far Cry 2 finds you caught between two rival factions in war-torn Africa. You're sent to take out "The Jackal," a mysterious character who has rekindled the conflict between the warlords, jeopardizing thousands of lives. In order to fulfill your mission you will have to play the factions against each other, identify and exploit their weaknesses, and neutralize their superior numbers and firepower with surprise, subversion, cunning and, of course, brute force. Built specifically for Far Cry 2 by the award-winning Ubisoft Montreal development team, the Dunia Engine delivers the most realistic destructible environments, special effects, such as dynamic fire propagation and storm effects, real-time night-and-day cycle, dynamic music system and non-scripted enemy A.I. You can explore 50 kilometers of rendered African landscape. Far Cry 2 also boasts real-time immersion. Real-time story telling, systemic auto-healing, and minimal in-game interface are just few of the features that will make you feel the tension of being alone against barbarous warlords that threaten thousands of innocent lives. With your choice of a wide selection of weapons, you'll meet the fight head-on with your machine-gun, go berserk with your machete, or make stealth kills as a sniper. If you feel that the atmosphere is not warm enough, light up your flame-thrower and let your enemies and everything around them feel the heat. With your glider, trucks, cars, and boats, you'll fly, run, drive, slide and hover over this huge open world

carrots are not the only fruit May 30, 2008 12 out of 40 found this review helpful
Another reviewer has said that Far Cry 26 is the best in the series. This I have to disagree with. After the interdimensional red rabbits attacked and took over the world in the year 2089, Far Cry took a real down turn. As with all pc games as the rabbit overlords ended our addiction to technology by introducing a revamped spinning wheel policy, humanity now resides underground in warren-like structures. Who would have thought that space rabbits had such a sense of irony. Anyway, as you may or may not be aware smoking causes premature ageing of the skin and i own a cat. Hope this is as helpful as the rest of the reviews: i too have a dream.....
Amazing April 26, 2008 13 out of 54 found this review helpful
This is the best game I've ever played, even though it hasn't been released yet. The box looks great and I imagined enjoying it so much I had to give it top marks!

Far Cry 2 is gonna kick it bigtime May 25, 2008 4 out of 26 found this review helpful
I've gotta say, this game is gonna be great. I totally recommend getting excited about it even before it is released. The game play is likely to be exceptional. And the graphics... the smoothness, the details... If you're reading this review before November 2008, then you wannit bad. You wannit so bad that you wanna give it 5 stars. And while I'm reviewing what will surely be a 5 star game, I'd also like to review the new moon colony. Oh sure, it's not going to happen until 2055, but it also deserves 5 stars. If only coz of the sheer expectation, the throbbing anticiaption. Well done Crytek, well done NASA and well done my furtile and admittedly premature reviewing sklls. It's seriously gonna kick, though... you know it. BTW, when I say "well done", the correct tense is "well will done". Isn't the future great?
Why should you buy this game? June 12, 2008 2 out of 17 found this review helpful
Who knows? It's not out yet so I'll have to think of something else to review... Ah yes, I ride a motorbike and that's damn good fun, so what more evidence do you need? Pre-order it now.
