4 out of 5 stars Frustrating but Satisfying!   June 11, 2008

Everywhere I have looked this little gadget has been slaughtered and is apparently rubbish. Well...it's not! Took about an hour to set up, with a few niggly and annoying errors (IP Address!!), but once it was done, I was thoroughly pleased with its capabilities and how easy it was to take my PS3 AND PSP online. The signal is brilliant as I have my PS3 upstairs and my PC downstairs and it doesn't make a difference. Instead of getting a wireless router, save yourself 25 with this. Its fast, easy and very good value. Only downside is setting it up, which requires instructions with what to do and a great deal of patience. Leave a comment if you are struggling to set it up and I will try to help you with some useful instructions.
And for only 25 its a bargain!

3 out of 5 stars FYI   November 29, 2007

Many people seem to be confused about what these products actually do. For their benfit i will try to explain.-

The PS3 indeed has a built in wifi sensor that will pick up wifi by itself, however this would be no use whatsoever if there was no wifi signal to pick up!

If you read the product description, this stick plugs into your HOME COMPUTER and as long as you have broadband on that computer this stick will generate the wifi signal for your PS3 (and anything else) to use.

If you already have a router you do not need this!

Please read the manufactures description before buying (this should apply to all products)

This products ok, but if its not really close to the console you want to connect to the signal can be quite bad. Another downfall is you need to have your computer on. I think a wireless router would be better than this product. Not a bad idea though.

2 out of 5 stars WiFi Nightmare   July 18, 2008

I bought this little device after reading a couple of reviews on here and from friends telling me about it,but what a total nightmare,i had 3 different people trying to get it working and for what,to cut connection every 20 minutes,i paid 24 for mine and after a few phone calls to virgin(which i should have did in the first place)i had a fully working wireless set up sorted for a one off payment of 40.From my point of view there are more hassle than they are worth.

1 out of 5 stars Don't Get this if you have Vista   May 10, 2008

I bought this item to link up my Playstation3 to my Vista Home Premium OS Laptop (broadband 20Mps). You are not warned until you open it that there may be problems with Windows Vista. The producers add a large list of instructions which will allow it to work with the OS; none of which actually apply to the Home Premium version (if they apply to others I do not know).
Part of the problem is undoubtedly Vista itself, which has a habit of deciding what you can and cannot do; even as an administrator. I believe, however, that the manufacturers should give a warning about the dongle's compatability with this OS and its many different versions.
