5 out of 5 stars Great product nearly perfect   November 23, 2007

For years I have played FPS on the PC. I finally bought a PS3 and soon realised I was rubbish at aiming using the sixaxis controller. To my amazement, this product had just been made available in the UK. It is a must for all those FPS fans who are used to using a mouse. Its only achilles heel is the fire button on the mouse, it needs to be pressed firmly ! But once you get used to it it is ok, and my success on COD4 multiplayer has taken a leap forward. Hopefully splitfish will sort out the mouse problem. Wireless would also be better. Oh, and theres no need to sit at a desk, I use it sitting in a chair with my feet up on the sofa back with the mat on my legs, can play for hours like that! Finally, if anyone is in doubt about purchasing one, I would say dont hesitate.

5 out of 5 stars Makes ps3 better then pc for for FPS   June 24, 2008

I cannot play any FPS game with mouse control. So I was stuck relying on PC for FPS. This device has made me convert to PS3 and save loads of money since I do not have to upgrade my pc. I have 6 buttons on the mouse + several more buttons on the ergonimically designed handheld device. I feel I am more in control with this device then a mouse and keyboard on a PC.

The device is well built and extremely reliable. I just plug it in and play!

I love this device (now can we have Crysis on PS3!!!)

5 out of 5 stars To be honest   November 9, 2007

to be honest i thought this was going to be a bad gimmick for the ps3 to catch the pc owners. however on using it i was very surprised. Its not as good as say a logitech for the pc but then it does not cost as much as logitech equipment.

Over all a good effort. lets see if they bring out a z-board for ps3

4 out of 5 stars Not as good as I expected, but....   November 11, 2007

After reading some great reviews online about the fragfx I was very keen to get one, being an fps fan (yes on PC!) I was interested to purchase one of these for PS3 as I am useless with the sixaxis. At first I was dissapointed.. Playing Resistance with this is no better than using the sixaxis mainly dut to the problem that Resistance has been designed to work with the sixaxis controller.

The lastest firmware update improves things slightly, you can now adjust the sensistivity of all the buttons and even re-map them if you wish too. However the main probelem is with the Mouse side of things, the movement is not smooth and is slow. One feature of the fragfx though is the sensitivity of the mouse can be raised or lowered resulting in faster or slower movement, trouble is, if you set it high then the motion is juddery, "jumps" making it difficult to get those precise hits. Some tweaking is needed by the ingame sensitivity and the fragfx itself to find a better balance, but I have to admit even with the suggested settings that come with the fragfx for Resistance is not quite good enough.

On a more positive note, the fragfx does appear to have potential, I will certainly be keeping it and testing it with COD4 as lots of people are saying that this works much better with this game than Resistance. Also, with UT3 designed with keyboard/mouse support then this will certainly be more useful for fragfx.

Bottom line IMOA, with future game support for mouse/keyboard and some tweaking with the settings this may well be one of the best alternatives to the sixaxis controller for FPS games.
