It seemed like a good idea at the time. A silicone skin cover to protect my wii board from scratches/damages, plus it has little bubbles shaped liked a foot to let you know where your feet should be - why would I say no to purchasing it with my copy of Wii Fit?

However after several minutes of playing I can honestly not recommend it to anyone.

Don't get me wrong - sure it protects your board and feels nice underneath your feet. Plus, you grip easier to the board with the skin on when your feet get sweaty from the exercise. But you sacrifice the board being able to sense you. The skin prevents board being able to sense your feet movements correctly so it gets confused or is unable to register you.

For example; on the 'Single Leg extensions' under the 'aerobic exercises', with the skin on, the wii failed to pick up that I was only standing on one leg - meaning that it wouldn't start the exercise. To overcome this I had to force some extra weight onto the leg I was standing on to register one leg wasn't on the board - which isn't recommended as your centre of gravity is not centered and of course you get cramps.

Other examples include not able to register that my feet were off the board most of the time in the stepping game. And on several of the balance exercises, when I leant on one leg to shift my weight, the game would move my wii in the opposite direction or not move at all - not a good thing when you're trying to beat your little brother's score!

If you insist on protecting your wii board, I recommend you only use this skin whilst the board it not in use. That way it protects if someone happens to trip on it. Otherwise, don't bother.

I hope this helps.
