I cant exactly review this for the pc yet as it isnt even out yet but amazon states its vista only, tihs is incorrect, it WILL BE ABLE TO BE PLAYED ON XP!

Games for windows live is completly free and works on xp just fine (Gears of war, Lost planet colonies)

5 out of 5 stars It works!   December 2, 2008

Well, I can see everyone's point of view. Having installed it today (Dec 2nd) ;though it is a pretty annoying process to actually activate; once done it does at least work (under Vista). Looks great. I'm not taking side sin the debate, I would have been happy to be injected with a flu virus to get this game. Yes, I did mean to type injected. Make up yr own mind about securom, but I can at least confirm the d*mn thing works!

5 out of 5 stars Securom Protection = disgracefull, Game = good   December 2, 2008

I agree that securom is flawed and its allready proven countless times it can be cracked, what the developers should of done is used protection to tie that one unique copy to its own unique cd key, and end it there, online activation is a bad idea in any form.

I am getting really tired of seing the same rants, If you do not like the protection system, buy it, then use a cracked version to run it securom free.

Dismissing a game entirely and even possibly rationalising your own piracy regarding this just makes you look like a dirty cheapskate trying to find a escuse, support your developers, were lucky they released on the pc at all guys cmon, look at how many other games do not even see the light of day.

Protected gta iv or no gta iv ?, you can not blame a developer for clutching at straws regarding the seriously large wave of piracy there going to face upon release or even pre release.

Also while everyone is complaining about Securom did everyone just forget about SafeDisc or Starforce, so many games have been released under this protection also,

Although not as hard to remove this is still what one could easily call a risk or a potential problem, "SafeDisc installs its own Windows device driver to the user's computer, named secdrv.sys. In addition to enabling the copy protection, it grants ring 0 access to the running application. This is a potential security risk, since trojans and other malware could use the driver to obtain administrator access to the machine, even if the programs are running under a limited account."

Starforce is no different, now thats all 3 major protection systems.

It seems software developers have been overstepping the mark for quite some time allready.

If you want some info on these protections wikipedia pretty much has it covered as mentioned on a prior review here.

5 out of 5 stars Stop wasting bandwidth with "opinions" about securerom..FFS !   December 1, 2008

Stop bloody writing reviews when you DONT EVEN HAVE THE GAME. The security stuff is not a problem for me at all. The game is getting great reviews, so how about people focus on the actual gameplay rather than other issues that people have no experience with because they have not even installed the game !
