Since all the other coolers seem crap i tried out this one. It works great, my PS3 is cool to the touch and you can feel the hot air blasting out of it, and it doesn't drain too much power from the ps3 like other ones.

I have looked at the other fan systems on this site and I really didn't like the idea of placing fan over fan. I bought this one to try and cool my PS3 as before it use to chuck out molten hot air and it still does chuck out hot air from the rear but it's no way as hot as it use to be with this cooling system as the air is distributed through both the rear and the top of my PS3 which is the correct way heat should be extracted so it's doing the job and silently. All in all I have had no problems with this unit and I use it all the time. I do agree that some fan systems may do more damage than harm but I do not believe this is one of them however I do not own the other systems to be able to comment. If people don't own the the systems they review then I'd take their words with pinch of salt.

The base looks funky, the fans do a great job of keeping the PS3 cool, everything is stable; what more can you ask?
I haven't had any problems with it and the difference in temperature on the console is amazing. Mine was literally too hot to touch before I got this, now it's cool as a cucumber.
I would recommend this as a priority purchase for any PS3 owner.

I bought my ps3 primarily as a replacement for my dvd player which broke. I keep my ps3 in a cabinet which isn't too good as it gets very hot.the ps3 has 4 fan speeds and in this confined space it ramps up to that of the sound of a xbox360, this makes it very difficult to watch a movie on it and spoils the experience. this fan has saved the day as now the ps3 is very cool and stays on the lowest fan speed and does it quietly. great news, well worth the money! highly recommended!

must admit was a bit sceptical about this item after reading about the fan not staying on when the stand is not used but having just recived mine today it fits the ps unit fine and there are clips to enable the fan unit to be attached to the ps and not use the stand and it does keep it cool all in all well pleased with it and its well worth the 9.99 for the fan alone and you get a stand aswell....
