5 out of 5 stars Sick!   May 29, 2007

Haven't played this game yet as it's obviously not out yet, but can't wait until it does, looks better than the first, (if that can happen!)

5 out of 5 stars This game is not as nasty as I thought... which is a good thing!   November 9, 2008
I bought this game, feeling a bit guilty at getting something that has had such bad press. In the first couple of chapters i felt really uncomfortable playing it. However, as the game unfolds I began to realise that there was a deep story to this and it has been really absorbing. I would say that there is a strong mix of Max Payne in here, as the feeling I had when playing that was exactly the same.

When you are required to eliminate characters, it is not a random killing-spree, which is good. There is a motivation and purpose behind any kills and those targetted are getting their just-desserts (believe me).

I would recommend this game for those who enjoy psychological games (I didn't like Silent Hill:Origins), who are looking for something a bit different that has an engrossing story line, but are looking for a game to take them out of their comfort zone.

5 out of 5 stars Long awaited and worth the wait!   November 16, 2008
Absolutely amazing! This is the PS2 experience on the PSP and it provides great action, bloody horror and plenty of sneaky stealth action! I completed it in about 5 days but it is by no means a short game, and you can replay missions again and again!

4 out of 5 stars Cancelled for now.   June 19, 2007

Apparently Manhunt 2 has been cancelled for all formats for the time being, the BBFC refused to give it an official classification to do with the content within the game which is a pity as it was so close to its release date. See gamesradar.com for more details.

4 out of 5 stars Release back on track!   October 4, 2008
It's just been announced, Manhunt 2 is en route for a Halloween launch in the UK! After well over a year of waiting, the game is finally get its release. Now comes the question: is it any good? The answer is a resounding 'Hell Yes'!

The one thing that you have to know before playing is, it is an entirely different animal to the first game. Like comparing the film Alien and its sequel, Aliens, they are completely different in style but that doesn't mean that the sequel is weak. Not for a moment.

Instead of being based on the snuff movie premise, this entry in the series takes the form of a covert government project (based on the infamous real-life 'Project MKULTRA') that's out to get you, to stop the truth from getting out.

The game play has been significantly upgraded to contain both environmental and jump executions. The environmentals are fantastic and well-placed, breaking up the traditional stalk mechanic with a lure-and-pounce one. And the jump kills, while you'll barely use them the first time round, are what will keep you coming back to the game. Just to find new places to jump from with different weapons, just to see the kills.

The only problems I can find with the game are; the lack of a scoring system at the end of the levels, the enemy AI, and the light-smashing claim. To set the record straight, there are only about half a dozen lights in the whole game you can actually smash, they all being large lights at fist level, waiting for you to punch. You can't just smash any lights, like some of the promotional material may lead you to believe.

Oh, and because you're probably wondering: no, I don't think the filter takes anything away from the game at all. You can still just about make the kills out (that goes double if you're playing it on TV with the LOGIC3 Component AV Cable for PSP2 Slim and Lite (PSP)) and the game is still brilliant anyway, even if you couldn't see the kills. Buy it now!
