Very cool, saves alot of mess from cables, which i always used to trip up over on the old xbox. They only use 2 batteries, and i got mine with the xbox, aswell as pgr3 and a hardrive, as i have a core, so the controller included batteries which is handy. They have an extremely long life, i reccomend energiser as it has more power and uses less at a time, making it last ages! It is slick, stylish, comftorble and makes the old small controller for xbox seem humungous. Buy one (or 2,3,4) now. You won't be dissapointed.
Good all rounder. May 12, 2007 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
The new xbox controllers are improved over the previous controller. The sticks on the controller for a start are more precise and feel more hard waring. The battery life is good u should get a good 25 hours out of them and u can switch the console on and off from the controller too which is a great added bonus of the new controllers.
Wires? What wires? November 17, 2006 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
I didn't think a wireless controller would affect my game playing experience at all. I still sit the same distance from the screen as I ever did and the console is the in the same place as my PS2 was.
The lack of a wire between console and controller has now made my PS2 use feel restricted. With the PS2 I cannot lay on my bed and still have full control when watching a DVD. I cannot turn the console on by pressing a button on the controller.
All of this CAN be done with the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller. If you want to use the Headset while playing online it simply plugs into the bottom of the pad.
One thing it has over the wired Xbox 360 controller are that is has rubberised thumb sticks. It is also a lot heavier than it's wired counterpart, due to the battery compartment. You can either use standard AA batteries or the official rechargeable batteries. I would opt for the rechargeable ones from Microsoft and a Quick Charge Kit, perhaps with an additional battery so you can continue when one battery runs out.
It doesn't have motion sensors like the Wii and PS3 controllers but I think this is too much of a gimmick anyway.
A good controller.
Quality Controller July 30, 2006 20 out of 22 found this review helpful
At first you may feel abit sceptic, its a wireless controller, surely it cant be as responsive as the wired version, it probably eats through lots of batteries, lets give it a miss and go for the chearper wired one...
Well, if thats what you think, you wrong on (almost) every point.
Lets start with the bad. If you use AA batteries, you will eat through them so quikly if you like playing your XBOX. I've gone trough 4 AAs in one day with one controller, so its definatly an idea to get the Microsoft Battery Packs, they last a few days and will definatly save you money on buying AAs.
But appart from that one down point, the wireless controller is as good as (well, better) than the wired controller. Its incredibly responsive, there is no lag what-so-ever, as soon as you press the button, it happens in the game.
And the fact its wireless is brilliant, you can turn on and off your console from you chair, it warns you when you have low battery power AND there is no cluttering from wires!!!
If you like gaming and you have/want more than one controller, then you must get wireless controllers, they are simply so much better (but remeber to get a battery pack for each controller).
Best controller ever... December 17, 2005 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Superiro to the S-type, and just beats the dualshock 2 on PS2. Absolute perfection in design, look, and feel. The wireless response is instant and goes through several average sized rooms, with obstacles in the way easily. Best controler i've ever used, and that's a lot. Make sure you get a play and charge kit, or get some AA batteries, as they last around a week of average gaming hours.
