5 out of 5 stars fantastic single-player, even more so on an intel iMac   May 28, 2007

I had first tried the X-Box 360 demo and was a little bit apprehensive, "only" having a 2 GHz G5 iMac. But playing at around 800x500 is perfectly adequate, graphics being very detailed and usually smooth, and the "feel" when moving around just perfect. Miles ahead of that miserable console hand thingy, especially me having a dodgy left hand. (I need not acquire a console for that reason .....I'm almost grateful).
One or two scenarios are slow because of the sheer abundance of open-air details, smoke and general mayhem - they really are very, very slow at times, down to a few frames/sec even when I throttle graphic options right back, and I wonder how my Mac's specs could be recommended - and maybe a desert tank scenario is not very interesting. But so much is so well made! And the sound effects are spot on. Best of all: no ragdolls; figures move very smoothly.
It's a step up from CoD, another world from MoH.
Once you've come to terms with the unavoidable fact that playing at war is not morally defensible (not really) you'll love this game. And try surviving the lot with a pistol and a sniper rifle, at max difficulty. I haven't really tried the CoD 2 multiplayer maps ....but aren't they a bit smallish? For a short period I played CoD multiplayer and I loved the huge Kharkov map that would let me keep my head down while still dominating an entire street with an MG. Small maps are for jumping right into the intense action, blazing left right and centre, and being taken out yourself in 10 seconds and respawning: I don't see much fun or the real world in that. But "campers" are a despised breed in multiplayer games.
Playing CoD 2 single-player you very quickly learn the programming of two mouse-buttons: the "ooops, crouch" and the "lie down flat on your belly coz starting again from the last checkpoint for the 10th time is a bore after all". No med-packs, you have to take good care of yourself.

Oyez, Oyez: A 2.66 GHz iMac core 2 duo, Radeon 2600 Pro, 20" and 4 GB RAM: framerates are SERIOUSLY smooth and improved in all scenarios, including the above mentioned. Even playing at 1680X1050 and full details and textures is perfectly feasible though not always recommended.

If you're a fan of Medal of Honor then you're in for a treat. This superb Mac version of Call of Duty 2 is fantastic fun in either the campaign-based single player mode or the multiplayer mode.

Amazing game - Significantly improved ofver cod1 and uo. faster, more relisttic enemy behavior, overall faster pace to the game - no having to find med kits. I would whole heartly reccomend this game - it ran more or less ok on a 2.1ghz g5imac with 1.5gb of ram (actually got it via a torrent) but would say it does slow down once or twice - usually in big open battles - you have to have nothing else running with the processor set to Highest. No big deal really. GET IT NOW! - doesnt matter if you havent played cod1 but if you play cod1 then cod2 you will notice a decrease in reliasm etc..
