Excellent port of a classic, finally back on the Mac February 19, 2008 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I wont go into the details of the game, the PC reviews are sufficiently accurate in my opinion. The port to the Mac is exactly like the PC version. I own both versions, so any issue with the PC version regarding silly camera angles don't appear to be resolved in this but I've only played up to the third level (Lost Valley). I'll update the comment at a later date if this proves to inaccurate. The system requirements are huge. Even my new iMac struggles with all the settings on high at 1680x1050. Turning off "Depth of field" and reducing the Anti-Aliasing makes the game smooth to play. The screen on the iMac makes this game a pleasure to play, and it is probably better than on the PC with an ordinary TFT monitor. Well done to Feral Interactive for this port. Hopefully it will encourage other games to be ported to the Mac sooner.
currently in the lost valley November 9, 2008 the games was great but i was stucked in the 3rd cog when t-rex appears. Am using mac & Logitech dual action doesnt seems to work at this level.it showa a red circle with no entry when button is press. cant move...not sure hoe to rate it...
Disappointed November 16, 2008 I had started, and always wanted to complete the original Lara Croft Tomb Raider, but not had the facility to play it with more recent hardware. I had thought this was going to be the perfect chance...
This game follows the basic story, but the changes detract from the game. I liked the Lara Croft series because of the sense of adventure, and the puzzles presented in finding your way through. This version is filled with 'shoot em up' sections which for me, ruin the concept. If I had wanted a shoot em up, that's what I'd have bought. I wanted an adventure game, and only got it in part.
