Figaro has so many interpretations, this one is as usual when Harnoncourt is involved a masterpiece! Blu Ray gives a picture and sound almost better than being there. Dorothea Roeschmann should have special praise! Can not recommend it enough!

Le Nozze Di Figaro November 15, 2008
I thought Christine Schafer as cherubino acting and intonation outstanding,
Anna Netrebko was so cool pitch and intonation immaculate so good looking,
maybe not so keen on heavy one dimensional singing of Ildebrando Darangelo
as Figaro nice if he could change his voice colour,nevertheless the whole
production worked for me.I think of Dorothea Roschmann as almost Swartzkopf
like,i have her as Pamina in Die Zauberflote,good acter a singer not just a
voice,i would like to hear her attempt Bachs cantata 199 ,as Swartzkopf
did,one of my desert island discs.I entered two stars ,i meant five stars
outstanding.
