I Know What You Did Last Summer [Blu-ray] [1997] [US Import]

Four friends accidentally run over a man after graduating from high school. They believe he's dead and to make sure they don't go to jail they dump his body in the ocean. They think it is all over from there on. One year passes and Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) receives a note reading "I know what you did last summer". Soon her high school sweetheart Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr), best friend Helen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and brooding Barry (Ryan Phillippe) all begin receiving notes and gruesome messages such as dead bodies and hair cutting terrors. The four friends soon rally together to bring down this stalker who claims to know what they did last summer!

This film doesn't really have that much gore in it. The script is more about tension than terror and it works well. The cast are all very good at their roles and Jennifer Love Hewitt plays the depressed heroine especially well! It is a real shame the sequel was so bad!

i love this movie,
it is great,
the murders are quite gruesome and the music is cool,
so by this movie it will chill you to the bone.

I Know What You Did Last Summer is deffinatly one of the best late ninety's wave of horror and slasher movies. It has it all - suspence, action, gore, cool death scenes, a creepy killer, A-list actors - plus it actually has a good story line. It is easy to see why this was a massive success, spawning two sequels (and hopefully another in the near future??).

Driving back from the beach after a Fourth of July party, four teenage friends, Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt), Barry (Ryan Phillipe), Helen (Sarah Michelle Geller) and Ray (Freddy Prince Jr) accidently hit a man who is wondering in the middle of the road. Julie freaks out and says they have to go the the cops, but Barry, who was drink driving, tells her that they'd all go to jail for manslaughter. After some argueing, they agree to dump the mans body into the ocean and each of them vow never to tell what they did.

One year later, Julie moves back with her parents for the summer after a year of college. She is not the girl she used to be, she is lonely and guilt ridden. No longer friends with those involved in the accident. But then she recieves a note from someone claiming they know what she did. She meets up with her friends only to find out they received similar threats. Soon the group are flung into a terrifying fight for survival as they are scared and stalked...and eventually killed, one-by-one, by a mysterious killer with a steal hook and a thirst for vengeance as July 4th approaches.

I Know What You Did Last Summer is a brilliant horror/slasher movie with plenty of suspence and gore. Highly recomended.
