Friends: Complete Season 1-10 (30 Disc Box Set) [1995]

The first two seasons were mostly centered on the on-off saga of Ross and Rachel, and while their relationship remained a strong presence through romantic rivals and even a baby, the other characters eventually moved from sideshow players into a shared comedic lead. But Friends was not without its heart. Most of the cast had dysfunctional relationships with their parents and went through loss, divorce, marriage, parenthood, and love triangles. The emotional pregnancies of Rachel (by Ross) and Phoebe (surrogate to her half-brother's triplets) won the actresses Emmy Awards, and Joey's tender feelings for Rachel in Season 8 won LeBlanc, the most improved actor in the series, a nomination.

Most sitcoms run out of ideas by the fifth season, but Friends gave itself a refreshing jolt the minute Monica and Chandler wound up in bed together. Their budding romance was not only the one of the funniest arcs of the series, but one of the most sentimental, as they planned a wedding, struggled to have a child and eventually turned to adoption. By seasons seven and onwards, the characters had each "grown up" from young singletons to thirtysomethings finding permanence in their careers and love lives but never losing the laughs.

Friends featured a parade of celebrity guests, but utilised most of the stars as more than mere cameos: The sextet's parents were all brilliantly cast, particularly Kathleen Turner as Chandler's drag-queen father and Teri Garr as Phoebe's dizzy mom. Everyone from George Clooney to Sean Penn to Julia Roberts to Bruce Willis has appeared on the sitcom, and Tom Selleck certainly enjoyed a career resuscitation after his recurring role as Monica's older man.

But no star power ever penetrated the bond between the six stars and their unmatchable chemistry worked for ten seasons. Even though the show is probably repeated somewhere in the world every day, this boxed set of Friends remains watchable over and over again -- even if that theme song eventually grates on your nerves! --Sally Giles

On the last disc there are several documentries and outtake reels which are very funny and informative. They are a must see for fans.

Whether you are a big fan or not I recommend you buy this boxset ASAP. You will not be disappointed!

If you enjoy American TV Sitcoms BUY THIS. This is without a doubt the best TV series I have ever watched and will continue to watch over and over and over again. Friends is a classic. Each character is so likeable for totally different reasons. They are all so adorable and the plots, although weak in some episodes are made fantastic by these six characters. There have been some wonderful guest appearances, who can forget when Rachel dates Jean Claude Van Dam or when Chandler dates Julia Roberts! Rachel's sisters are Reese Witherspoon and Christina Applegate. Bruce Willis is Ross's girlfriend's disapproving father and Joey has Elle McPherson as a flatmate! One of the best guest star appearances has to be the one with Brad Pitt at Thanksgiving. One word - Hilarious! All 10 seasons are fabulous and I can't even choose a personal favourite. Friends makes me laugh out loud, sometimes to the point of crying and is so light hearted, easy to watch and all round entertaining. You only wish these friends, were your Friends.

This set is a fantastic one which features every single episode and series.You may wonder about the price, but it is loads cheaper to buy this whole set than each single one.And if your thinking that you have some of the others already, sell them on amazon and put it towards this set. It is a great need for ANY friends fan and a good way to say goodbye to the brilliant series.So sit back,relax,laugh and cry to every episode of Friends.

i received my boxset almost 2 months ago and i have to say it still makes me beam with joy knowing as a friends fan i own every single episode, right on my shelf!
It took me a while to decide whether or not to buy it, but i can tell u, as so many ppl b4 me have said, it is worth every penny! i do not regret buying the boxset for one second. without it, i would just be watching it on the tv, wishing my favourite one would come up...wishing i could replay a funny part...and wishing i didnt have to over spend to own a beautiful box presenting every single episode on 30 cd's!
You can watch any episode, anywhere, on laptop and computer, as well as on a dvd player. and how ever many times u want to.
hope that helped people to make a decisions about buying it, becasue as a friends fan it really is the best thing you can possibly have.
well im off to watch an episode i was going to watch, {the one with all the cheescake, which i must have seen at least 5 times since getting the box set!!} but i thought i would write this review and show people how much love it. and if it makes people decide that they should buy it, thats not a bad thing either.
