Unlike many of the other reviewers, I didn't go to see the show that this dvd is of, although I did go to see his most recent tour only a couple of weeks, and I came out hurting all over. I could literally not stop laughing. The material is solid and, unlike many comedians, his improvisation is spot-on, and a lot of the time these provide the best moments.
Like I said, I haven't seen this dvd, but as a review of Russell, he deserves no less than full marks and I'm confident this will be one of if not the best stand-up DVD this Christmas.
A word of advice though: From working in a large chain that sell's DVD's and CD's etc. it's obvious that these stand-up dvd's are released especially for Christmas, and every week upto christmas, the price goes up. If you really want one of these (when I say "one of these" I mean any stand-up DVD: Frankie Boyle, Dara O'Brian etc etc.) then buy it from Amazon or HMV.co.uk or within the first week of its release. If you can wait, your much better off waiting until after Christmas when the prices almost always drop by at least 50%. Last year, Peter Kay had a DVD out which i bought for someone a few weeks before Christmas for 14.99. Just before Christmas it went up to 16.99. On Boxing Day it dropped to 7.99, so it's definitely worth waiting if you can.

I know the DVD hasn't been released yet but I saw his show at the Bloomsbury Theatre when it was being recorded and I hurt from laughing! Some of the content will be familiar to viewers of Mock The Week but there's also plenty of stuff in there that I hadn't heard before.
If the DVD recording is anywhere near as hilarious as the show itself I would recommend it to anyone! If you don't find this show funny you don't have a sense of humour.

I saw his show at the Bloomsbury Theatre when they recorded it, and his performance was amazing. The quality of his jokes was top notch, and his improvised stuff was even better.
If the DVD is a representation of even a tenth of the live show, it will be the best comedy DVD of the year.
One thing, the 19.99 is a bit steep, but Russell Howard can hardly be blamed for that!

I have just got this DVD and watched it, it was absolutely hilarious, if you like his Apollo stuff you will love this.
Beware there are times with a fair amount of swearing but the way he does it is comedy gold.
Extra is nothing special, the main segment is 1 hour and 9 minutes long.
In my opinion it is totally worth it, great DVD and a good buy.

Having read some of the other reviews it is clear to see that some people have to hear the C or F word for it to be funny, otherwise ....it will not compute!!! Obviously each to their own, personally I can't stand Lee Evans but I digress. Russel Howard is hilarious, he may not have peaked yet but he has been brilliant thus far which means he could only get better in my opinion. The style of racing through a story has much better flow and momentum than a dead pan gag and then waiting for the laugh...gag...wait...laugh...gag...wait...laugh which frankie Boyle had at the Apollo, which left me sorely dissapointed. It is arrogant and stunted it doesnt flow...I may aswel be reading out of a joke book. Personally I would recommend this DVD to everyone with a decent sense of humour as he is awesome!
