Product Description Call of Duty 3 delivers the intensity of being closer than ever to the fury of combat during the Normandy Breakout, the historic campaign that made the liberation of Paris possible and brought the Allies a step closer to Berlin.
Amazon.co.uk Review
In a nutshell: After the last game became the best selling launch title for the Xbox 360, Activision aren’t wasting any time with the follow-up as you do you bit to help out with the Normandy breakout and the liberation of France. The lowdown: Despite the new digit in the title this isn’t so much a sequel to Call of Duty 2 on the 360 and PC as it is Call of Duty: Big Red One on the PS2, Xbox and GameCube. It’s by the same developer (Treyarch), there’s no PC version and it doesn’t feature three distinct armies, but instead a recreation of the Normandy breakout. That’s not to suggest it’s short on new ideas though with much larger levels than ever before and far more vehicles to control (particularly in the Battlefield like multiplayer mode). There’s also a new Resident Evil 4 style quick time event system for hand-to-hand combat where you have to hit specific buttons to sock it to the Nazi hordes. Most exciting moment: It may seem a bit shallow to go on about the game’s explosions but really, there’s never been anything as realistic as the fireworks in this game. The way the smoke moves is particularly amazing, even drifting in the wind or dispersing after a second nearby explosion. Since you ask: Although Activision has confirmed nothing yet they have hinted that original Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward are working on their own sequel, primarily for the PC. When it will come out and whether it will be translated to the next generation consoles is currently unknown. The bottom line: The best WII first person shooter looks to be getting even better. generally this game i use for online purposes and boy is it good for that. i had never liked a fps before. i was bought this so i played it and i loved it. i have only done 2/3 missions because i find online so much more fun. the game really should have voice chat features though but none the less an incredible game.
Call of Duty 3 March 20, 2007 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
Great game on the PS3. It not only looks good but above all has great playability and is quick to get into unlike some other games that I've played over the years. My pick is Call of Duty 3 and Motorstorm on the PS3.

I got Call of Duty 4 (PS3)for my birthday from my kids and this was my first of this kind of game, so I hired out Call of Duty 3 to try before i buy ,went straight out and bought it next day .This COD 3 PS3 is far better than the new COD4, its longer and harder I started on level 2 and its harder than level 3 of COD 4 ,Getting shot is easy so you have to watch not to and keep under cover i love the sniper rifles and smoke grinades far better than frag grinades I would recommend this version COD 3 (PS3)not the PS2 version more than the new Call of Duty 4 (PS3) Kill Kill those Nazis one shot one kill
WWII at its best March 23, 2007 3 out of 10 found this review helpful
Putting it bluntly, COD3 is the best WWII game available without being there yourself. Activision have basically made the game feel a reality with wonderful graphics(especially explosions and also the sound effects.) To be honest medal of honur and all other WWII dont even compete. I had thi on my 360 just as i did with oblivion and therefore am lucky enough to know the game inside out. The online is what makes this game a MUST BUY for the launch of the PS3. Please get this game and help activision rule the war!
Great Game.. BUY IT!!! March 30, 2008 I own COD4 and really enjoyed it so i decided to buy this game after enjoying COD4 so much and WOOOOWWWWW!, this game is excellent...
I thaught it got abit boring in places as it does get quite repetitive and can give you a headache after awhile but this is a war game with an excellent story mode with different battle tactics as the game involves.
It has a better story mode than COD4 and uses "SIXAXIS Motion Sensitive" feature of the ps3 controller where you need to move the controller in certain directions to fight off an enemy soldier that has just grabbed you in a movie sequence this makes the game very realistic on my 40" HD TV.
You also plant bombs on enemy cannon's and have to turn the controller clock wise to attach bombs to guns, enemy cannons and tanks.
This is an excellent game you work as part of a team in this WWII drama using rocket launchers, sniper rifiles and shot guns you can also throw grenades at the enemy and you also need to watch out for grenades being thrown at you.
Some levels you travel by foot, some by tank and also some levels by motor car with your team mates some times you are on the back of the motor car shooting at your enemy, some levels you are driving to your destination and your team mates are shooting.
In online mode you are part of one online team fighting another online team doing battle on foot and using vehicles and you can run in and out of houses which can be fun but can get boring after a bit of playing.
But apart from online mode the single player mode is great sadly this game is only a one player which i feel is abit strange for a game of this good quality and as the ps3 has 4 usb controller ports would of made this game better if you could actually play with 3 other friends in story mode and also in mutiplayer.
The games graphics are superb and the resolution for viewing this game on an HD TV is 720p which looks excellent on my 40" Sony Bravia.
My PSN ID is: crowscs
add me if you have any of the games i have reviewed on Amazon.
