5 out of 5 stars Guitar Hero Becomes Band Hero!   November 15, 2008

This arrived yesterday on launch day and the only downside was being woken up by the kids playing drums at 7am! If you liked GH then you will love this.

Worthy of note is that you need a Wii controller per instrument - so if you have lead guitar, base guitar, drums and microphone, you need FOUR Wii controllers (even though the mike plugs in to USB at the back of the Wii).

5 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!   November 15, 2008

This is a great game i have had so much fun banging away on the drums, for so many hrs. Every instrument is great the only con is the kick pedal for the drums feels cheap and like it could break at any time. Other than that the whole set up is great tons of songs hrs of fun V HAPPY ;-)

5 out of 5 stars Watch Out Pete Townsend, Here I Come..........   November 16, 2008

I pre ordered and received the Guitar Hero World Tour bundle and free guitar on 14 Nov 08, ready to unleash some serious anger on the drum kit. Although, as previously mentioned in almost all the other reviews, each instrument requires a seperate controller. A minor point which took my wallet pleasantly by surprise! The drum kit and guitars take moments to set up,and once my kids had practised their Pete Townsend impressions we were ready to start. The game is fantastic, very addictive, easy to learn and play. I do have two little points i beleive are worth mentioning. Unless you have surround sound, it is quite difficut to hear the drums over the thud of the drum stick on the rubber pads. I beleive you can alter the volume of each instrument though. Finally, the game has 85 songs to have a go at, from the Sex Pistols to the eagles, but only a handfull that i knew, If you like heavy metal, you will love it. You can buy more songs online though. Overall, a cracking gift to myself, if i could get a go on it. 10/10. Enjoy.

5 out of 5 stars rock out!   November 21, 2008

Mine arrived promptly, thanks Amazon!

The drums: feel great, easily adjustable in height, although the kick peddle takes some getting used to. The wii remote slots in the top, and the whole kit runs off it, there is no separate power source, so make sure your stocked up on AA battery's for your wii remotes. The drumsticks are wooden, and the build quality of all is excellent.

The guitar: heavier than the les Paul controller and slightly larger in size so wont fit in my guitar controller carry bag : -(. Build quality feels better than the les Paul controller though. Guitar runs off wii remote like drums and previous guitars. The whammy bar is much better, there's a star power button that you can much more easily hit with your palm while strumming, and the new touch sensitive strip allows some insane note combo's to be hit, as well as the tap function for strumming which I never use.

You can use the les Paul guitar controller to play the game just as well as with the new guitar.

You need a wii remote for each instrument.

There are 80 odd songs to play, none of which contain explicit lyrics.

There are not very many songs for download online, although the new James bond one is on there (jack white and Alicia keys)

For GH gods: the hammer-on window is not like GH3, its small, requires accuracy.

all instruments are really responsive except the mic which has a little bit of sound lag, not major,

this game plays best on tube teles where there is no lag, although lag can be adjusted in game for all tv's.

I preference the guitar hero games, and would recommend them over any other games in the genre.

Lastly Amazon's price is about as good as it gets, doubt you'll find it cheaper elsewhere, not with great delivery anyway.

all the best

5 out of 5 stars Amazing amount of fun to be had!!   November 27, 2008

I'm not very musically inclined, and haven't played any of the GH series or rock band before, so I was very apprehensive about paying so much money for the band kit. But on a recommendation I took the plunge to try it out (and the fact we chipped in together to buy it!)

Rest assured its absolutely fabulous!!

You have to use your wireless wii remotes though on each instrument, which meant I had to go out and buy another wii remote if you want to play multi player, but then there are so many other good multi player games out there that the small cost would soon be recouped with hours of fun. On the plus side this does effectively make the drums and guitars wireless.

I found the drums easiest to play, but my red drum isn't as sensitive as it should be - although there appears to be a fix for this on the GH website. I thought I wouldn't use it in single player mode, but I've recently started using the guitar and finding it very addictive - I'm not very good at the moment and after a good jamming session find my fingers start to ache - wish the game gave you more of break between songs when your doing a gig on solo mode!

Obviously this kit does take up a lot of room, although on the plus side the drums to detach and break down to take a smaller space and the neck of the guitar also detaches.

Overall a great game, plus you can use the guitar in other GH3 titles, as well as the mic for other mic games.
