Amazon.co.uk The Star Wars saga will continue in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a videogame developed by LucasArts, which casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.

You are Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice View larger. | Use the Force to disable your enemies View larger. | Artwork of the Jedi "Maris" View larger. | As its name implies, The Force Unleashed completely re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force. The Wii version will not only give you a solid story-line developed by LucasArts involving the Darth Vader's secret apprentice, but you'll experience a new style of gameplay only the Wii can offer. With the Wiimote and Nunchuk you'll be able to battle your way through your enemies utilizing your Lightsaber attacks and Force powers. Not only can you experience this new control system in story mode, but you can also try your Jedi skills against a friend in the Wii, "Battle Mode." Joining the Dark Side doesn't seem like such a bad idea after all.
Game Features:- During the period between Episodes III and IV, players hunt Jedi in the role of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice.
- Unleash and upgrade the Secret Apprentice's four core Force powers - Force push, grip, repulse and lightning - throughout the course of the game, and combine them for ultra-destructive, never-before-seen combos.
- Examples of unleashing the Force in ways never thought possible:
- The Secret Apprentice won't just Force push enemies into walls - he'll Force push enemies through walls.
- The Secret Apprentice won't just Force grip foes to throw them aside - he'll Force grip them in midair, zap them with lightning, then drop them to the ground to explode like a bomb.
- In addition to new adversaries created just for the game, such as fugitive Jedi and Force-sensitive Felucians, players will also confront and associate with familiar faces from the Star Wars films, including Darth Vader.
- Visit locations such as Episode III's Wookiee home world Kashyyyk and the floral Felucia, the junk planet Raxus Prime, plus an Imperial TIE fighter construction facility.
- The Wii system's "Battle Mode," a one on one fighting arena simliar to the classic game, Star Wars: Masters of Teraes Kaesi.
- Use the Wiimote to slash and pierce your enemies with your Jedi Lightsaber while you use the Wii Nunchuk to disable other opponents with your Force Powers.
- LucasArts is preparing an unprecedented promotional effort around the launch of The Force Unleashed, encompassing a full line of toys and game-based action figures from Hasbro, as well as a full publishing program from Dark Horse, Del Rey and Palace Press.

A good game! Good fun, not too serious and great graphics! September 30, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I think that this is a good star wars game for the wii. Although I was at first sceptical after playing the first level, after the plot had thickened a bit and you get to play the dark apprentice, I found that I was hooked! The use of force powers is great and easy to learn, and being able to destroy various parts of the scenery and throw objects is great! Furthermore, the quality of the graphics are at a high standard - just wait till you see the city of nar shadaa! wonderful! this is not a weak lucas game at all, but is perhaps a little "arcadey" for more serious gamers. Nevertheless, combined with a good story line, great graphics and excellent music from the original films, this is a worthy contribution to the growing number of classic titles on the wii! one last thing, I think the wii controllers work well with this - for users who want a real "light saber" game, just wait till the new clone wars game that comes out in november!

To play this game, requires nintendo wii. Nintendo Wii Console (Includes Wii Sports)
Now it's time to be on the dark side! It's a good game on wii, as it's very physical though I would not buy it on Nintendo DS as one of the main reasons it's good is as it's physical. You can discover the story in between episode II and III. It's good because you can control the force and fight friends, AND destroy enemies. There is a duel mode where you can fight up to two friends. It is a great game, and it's not too difficult so your proggresion isn't stopped by impossible levels or another. It is a 16+ but is still a great game, and not too much violence so I don't see really why its a 16+ to be honest. Thank You for reading.
best star wars game so far September 19, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
this is an amazing game. Good storyline. Great affects. love the force action. Sometimes i get a bit board with fighting the same enemies and walking into the next stage and just destroying all the guards with lightning. Lightsabre battles are good though. very very good. They are high speed and you really have to be tactical. It does get a bit boring just hunting down jedis and killing them. Great game though, well worth getting.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! September 23, 2008 1 out of 7 found this review helpful
i have had this on pre-order since august 9th (the day after my birthday) and its worth the wait, sure you cant use many saber moves but it has the basics eg. stab, block, left, right, p and down with loads more. say you press A and swing your remote you throw it at targes but if you pick up somebody and do this then you throw-stab them, and this is just 1 of many cool moves.
(spoiler) sure the story is kinda short but who cares, and who cares that you cant win.
none of that maters because there is 1 main concept that is great your a force wielding lightsaber throwing one of a kind jedi/sith.
The Force is strong in this one.... September 28, 2008 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
This game is set between Episodes III and IV. the first level sees you playing as Darth Vader who has been sent to track down and kill one of the few jedi who survived Order 66. Vader defeats the Jedi and then kidnaps his son whom Vader senses a strong power in. 15 years later the son now the Apprentice of Vader a.k.a Starkiller is about to start his first Mission.
The basic gameplay involves swinging the WiiRemote like a Lightsaber, collecting Lightsaber crystals, heath and force meter powerups, Concept Art ect. You will face many enemies including Stormtroopers, AT-ST's Fugitive Jedi and even some Sith Lords.
The Story mode is great with a deep Plot and numerous characters. Some are from the films like Bail Organa and Princess Leia. There are some completely new characters too like Aged Jedi Rahm Kota and Juno Eclipse, pilot and love interest of Starkiller.
Sadly the Story can easily be beaten in a few days but you can reselect your completed file and start again with all the stuff you unlocked the first time around.
The other main feature is the Wii exclusive Duel Mode where you can fight a friend (Sadly no choice to fight the CPU) with 27 different Jedi and Sith(11 however are Starkiller in a variety of different outfits also most characters will need to be unlocked by progressing through the story) Unfortunately the Duel Mode is very Generic with Little sound and no dialogue whatsoever.
Overall this game is a decent purchase but sadly if you are not a Star Wars fan or if you are not prepared for the poor Replay Value it might be best to save your cash for something else.
