Love this controller! February 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think this is a fantastic controller very easy to use and not to light but not to heavy either. The control is very fun to use, its not uncomfortable and it fits perfectly in your hand.
There is not much to say about a controller but this is fantasticly designed and great fun to use!
Great but not perfect December 31, 2006 8 out of 11 found this review helpful
Its great for what its intended for. Relative motion and distance etc using the wii. However I have to say I've encountered several times when it will fail to sync with the wii unit which is very frustrating.
I will say that the batteries last a good deal. Its been 2 weeks since I purchased the wii console and they are still saying 4/4 bars.
The speaker on the remote is not the best of quality but the build quality looks and feels good of the entire remote. Overall a great controller but not really suited for driving games and suffers a few technical issues.
Essential to get the most out of your wii but far too expensive April 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
You only get one wiimote in the standard kit wii console and while this is a fantastic controller hence why I have given it 5 stars for fun I think it is over priced as unlike other consoles there is no 'after market' 3rd part alternatives that are cheaper.
I would welcome a reduction in the price by nintendo to make the additional wiimotes more accessible for more people. Your looking at the best part of 150 to get 3 more wiimotes and nunchucks required for 4 player mode. I have got 4 and it really does make play more fun and allow more people to join in.
Excellent but slightly flawed December 16, 2006 12 out of 36 found this review helpful
The Wii controller is a revolution. Everybody is raving about it. The next generation of consoles (and perhaps even updates to the PS3 and XBOX360?) will sport similar controllers. But the controller does have a couple of minor weakpoints:
1) the pointing function (e.g. shooting) needs you to point it almost directly at the screen. It's quite common to see people, especially new users, "lose" the pointer because they are not pointing directly at the TV screen. 2) games that require you to hold the controller sideways like a steering wheel aren't as sensitive, because the infrared receiver on the controller can't "see" the sensor bar. 3) the nunchuk isn't detected in as much detail as the Wii controller itself (the nunchuk doesn't "see" the sensor bar). This shows on games like Wii sports boxing, where you have less control over your left hand than your right.
So the Wii controller is more like a reasonable start, and currently the best gaming controller, rather than the best controller that WILL ever be built.
It's Not Conventional But It Serves It's Own Purpose... December 7, 2006 3 out of 49 found this review helpful
Ok so I first looked at the Wii Controller's and thought Eurch! It differs so much from the normal hand held controllers and the fact that you have to swing it around is a just cause for accidents (as we have recently seen in the news), However I also read a review by a woman who has lost all four fingers on her left hand and now only has the use of her thumb, she is an avid gamer but finds it difficult to play games obviously, with the new Wii Remote having difficulty playing games is now a different matter, I am unsure whether Nintendo had the disabilty factor in mind but they've certainly scored well with the Wii Remote, however being some what of an avid gamer myself the controller still differs to much from the conventional controller and is one of the first that can be a damged to your health and those around you for me to like it 100%
