 Second PS3 crashed August 6, 2008

I bought a playstation 3 six months ago which crashed 2 months later (wouldn't read any DVDs or gamediscs anymore; apparently due to a hardware problem), wherefore i gave it back and received a new one which crashed again yesterday (same problem). The problem is widespread (as read in internet-forums). For a console this expensive you would expect a solid hardware. And what's disappointing too is, that internet-support is inexistant (just FAQs which presuppose it's a software-problem, which isn't the case; no E-Mail address as well, so you can call yourself lucky if there's a Sony-shop near to where you live). I was a Playstation 2 fan, but am very disappointed in the PS3. Wait at least one more year before you buy one (almost no interesting games around yet anyway).
Buy an Xbox 360 instead February 24, 2008

The PS3 has terrible trouble. Developers struggle to program for it, its online service falls away when compared to Xbox LIVE, and console suffers from a lack of quality games. ALL the big hitters are on Xbox 360, multiformat games play and look better on Xbox 360. And the console is cheaper.
The only reason to buy this is if you want to use it as a future proof Blu-Ray player.

Advice to anybody contemplating buying a PS3 to watch high definition surround sound DVD's - forget it. The new PS3 whines so loudly while playing DVD's it drowns out the high quality DVD soundtrack. On the positive side it's slightly quieter than the legendary "vacuum cleaner" PS2 . Anybody contemplating a PS3 for blue ray movie watching, I would suggest you buy a machine specifically designed for the purpose and leave the PS3 for what it is basically designed - playing noisy games.
Sonys answer to destroying gameplay... January 3, 2008

Well here we go. Another Sony console and another solution from Sony in an attempt to destroy gameplay...once and for all. The finger does not just point at Sony though as Microsoft and it's piddle machine...XBOX 360 are also responsible for a video game future of such boring proportions that it is not worth thinking about. Nintendo seems to be the only company out there that devote their time to creating fun and exciting games oozing with great gameplay. Admitting that the graphics aren't as good as some of the other machines but Nintendo has that key ingredient that Sony and Microsoft seems to so dearly lack.
Back to the PS3...
One of the most amazing features about this tank is the turn off feature. Hold this button then push this button. A PC is easier to turn off...no wait a minute...the national grid is easier to turn off. Pointless and pathetic.
Studying the games for the machine, well it boasts some of the best graphics I have ever seen but seening these games played, it is simple to see that there are holes in the game...you guessed it...gameplay. Sony and the 3rd Party game makers have a lovely habit of pulling the wool over every buyer of this tank.
The price is still expensive and I do believe that Sony are at a loss with this pointless attempt to dominate the console market...wait a minute...is the PS3 a console or a PC...or maybe a large, sluggish tank that has finally ran out of ammo and will evetually be blown to pieces by the speed jets of the Nintendo forces.
Just to conclude this, I actually used to prefer the PS over XBOX but I believe the tables are turning and the PS3 (tank) is a fools machine for which I would not even except for free.
Sony...mission failed!!!

i have sold mine and got the nintendo Wii, so much more fun.
