5 out of 5 stars Erm, Rock On I Suppose.   August 4, 2008

What can you say about this game? Initially i bought this for parties i occationally throw, however i now rank it alongside COD4 as my most played game!

When i first started out i was pretty poor. Well, very poor. I started out on the easy setting and after owning it for about 4 months now i'm 'shredding' on expert! The feeling of nailing a tough solo is satisfying to say the least and as you find yourself getting better at the game you find it more enjoyable. Needless to say that whenever i throw a party everybody is asking where the Xbox is for Guitar Hero 3.

Some complain about the tracklist, I dont. I find the songs worthy and enjoyable with a couple of challenges in the mix, for instance a certain song by Dragonforce has me hooked on expert! I really cannot do the game justice by simply reviewing it. All i would say is that i have convinced a few of my friends to buy the game who initially didnt want it and they all love it!

I would say it is incredibly unlikely you wont like the game if you are a fan of music and rock. At under 50 quid now there is no excuse, buy it and immerse yourself!

5 out of 5 stars Well worth a purchase - even if you have played GH2 to death   October 24, 2007

WOW - Just downloaded and played the demo for the 1st time on Xbox Live Marketplace. It is limited to 5 tracks Rock You Like a Hurricane as made famous by the Scorpions, Even Flow by Pearl Jam, The Metal by Tenacious D, Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar and Lay Down by the Priestess.

The overall feel of the game is improved, from the little light bulb star power meter, to the counter in the bottom left that counts your streak of notes - until you hit a bum one and fluff it! Obviously playing the demo using the 360 GH2 controller and I can confirm it works flawlessly - only wish my skill was as good - maybe I should stop playing xbox games in my pants?

Actual confirmed track list is amazing and I can't wait to get hold of my copy.

Just played the demo from XBOX live, and cant put it down! I'm new to GH games and using the normal xbox controller so obviously not the same feel as the guitar, which is now wireless! Cant wait for it in November, stunning tracklist! with prob more to download. Gonna be top...just ordered my copy with the guitar.

5 out of 5 stars I hated rhythm games....   November 4, 2007

Then I played the demo for this, it blew me out of the water. It's amazingly fun to play and easy to get into (Albeit slightly hard if you dont own the guitar, like me).

The songs are well chosen for their varying genres and speeds and have some great bands such as In Flames, Killswitch Engage and Maiden. Download the demo and give it a try. You'll love it ;]

5 out of 5 stars It Wasn't Broken, So They Didn't Fix It!   November 24, 2007

I received my copy of GHIII yesterday and played it for as long as my fingers would let me! Having got GHII, I was apprehensive when I heard Harmonix had left and Activision/Neversoft had came in. However, the new production team are no mugs and recognised why GHII was such a success - because they never differed from the first game! And that's exactly what has happened here, only with a few minor (but very good) improvements on the previous game. Things like a note counter on the screen are a great addition, and in actual gameplay terms, things like Boss Battle make for a refreshing change. I only played a couple of games onine against fellow shredders, so I will let someone else give a detailed review of that part, but from what I experienced it was brilliant, and again a very welcome addition to the game.

I definitely recommend this game to everyone as you can have great fun going through the career yourself, but it's also a great party game! Enjoy!
