Great nostalgia trip ... July 30, 2008 This is a great game, which mangages to fit the Lego Star Wars formula to the Indy films seamlessly. It also provides enjoyable nostalgia for those who have watched the films over the decades and the humour is welcome. The levels and gameplay are varied and there is the obvious huge benefit of massive replayability. Yet I only have rated it 3 stars and the following is why...
1. I've played the PSP version which is virtually identical except for the graphics. Perhaps the PS3 version could have included some more extras? 2. The camera sometimes means that you cannot line up your jumps accurately - surely this is unforgivable for platform games in this day and age? maybe some limited camera control or more forgiving jumps (such as in Uncharted)would have been useful? 3. Lego Star Wars (PS3) included all 6 movies and loads of extras. The content of Lego Indy seems woefully lacking in comparison. 4. it seems to me that Lego indy is just a little too easy compared to Lego Star Wars when collecting the bonuses. You can usually become a True Adventurer half way through a level and if you don't find an artifact piece then you can just buy it!!
Other than these issues the Lego platforming concept is stll a genius idea that works well for Indy and they certainly haven't stopped me playing it or recommending it to others!
(Edited, no more bugs) a fun game. June 6, 2008 1 out of 17 found this review helpful
Lots of fun, although initially my review complained of bugs after the first episode I don't seem to have come across anymore (other than just a few niggling problems) so I'm editing my review.
Although the bug on the first level remains, when you come to the rotating stone platforms. If you go through the door after picking up the statue but then return - the stone platforms are no longer rotating which means if you fall into the water you cannot get back up again. There is no way around this, which means you have to restart the game.
Riddled with bugs!!!! June 12, 2008 1 out of 8 found this review helpful
Just like Indiana Jones films this game has lots of bugs in it....
At the moment I am in the Last Crusade section....it took 3 attempts to finish the first level as the boss at the end could not be killed as he was in the water for some daft reason and should have been in his boat. In the second level this had to be quit as a chair cannot be pushed across a movable floor. This is after spending considerable time collecting all the money and treasures...all for nothing!
I want to like the game, being a big Indy fan and also loved the Star wars lego games, but this is pretty poor in my opinion.....
Does anyone know if patches are available to download for the PS3?
not bad but not what its cranked up to be June 14, 2008 0 out of 14 found this review helpful
from the second i first heard about this game a few months back i was interested, my inner childexited about recreating that indy magic.its not abad game,as such, it looks pretty and is sort of fun to play, and i am a hude fan on how the second player can dip in and out at any point in the campain, a feature sadly lacking in many games. also as i am in fairly early stages of the game it is great playing thorough the indy movies that weve all senn countless times. some how this game just aint that great i just cant seem to enjoy playing a game in which when you die you re-spawn exactly where you died, this seems to take away the feeling of risk and suspence which i must admit is quite an achivment. this game is yes, aimed at children, soom adults may enjoy it but to me it just dosnt offer enogh challange to intrest me or most adult gamers. my advice is for chikldren this game may be fun with the simple approach to the game but for adult gamers this is the wrong game.
