I'd never played any of the Civ games before, but once I'd played the demo on Xbox live I just had to buy this!!
I have been playing this so much over the last 3 days and just can't get enough of it.
All in all a fantastically addictive game...Buy it..!!!

This is going to be the best online-enabled rts game for the xbox 360 so far. I haven't a clue why the other reviewer gave this game 3 stars because 'it had no information about it' Reviews are here on the amazon website to rate the quality of the item, not about its lack of information about the game. This title has been tailored by Sid Meier exclusively for console use, so we won't be seeing a clumsy PC to console rts port. The controls for the game are apparently extrememely well put together for console use and therefore we are going to see a strategy game that I think will top all others on xbox 360 so far. It is aimed mainly at online play and apparently it appears to be simplified compared to its PC cousin. But simplified in a way which means you will be able to pick up the game fairly quickly without the often tiresome, complicated tutorials often associated with rts games of this calibre. Easy to pick up, but it will take hours of gameplay to master, whether it be working out how to keep your townsfolk happy or where to build your next city. Civilization works from the ground up. You start with a builder, choose your spot to build a city and everything snowballs from then on. The online play will make you even more efficient as you begin to master the controls and how to position your armies. This game is going to rock.
Totally different to Civ IV June 15, 2008
This game is brilliant, and it does present a refreshing change from FPS for the 360, but my main concern is that it is a completely different game to Civ IV.
I loved Civ IV, played it to death, and the reason I loved it was because I took time to learn its complexities. This on the other hand is much more simple, with many of the interesting but complicated sections of Civ IV completely removed.
I don't want to write too much, so I'll cut it short; the game is great, but to be honest it won't stop me playing Civ IV occasionally. It's good for a quick Civ fix, but for an interesting long haul game, it will always be Civ IV. I'll still give it 5 because I haven't tried xbox live, which might be awesome.!
Amazing July 19, 2008
At first I thought this game simply wouldn't work, Civilization is meant to be played on PC's not on a games console. However the easy to navigate controls along with a vast number of players online makes this civilization one of the best games I ever bought for the Xbox 360!

This is an extremely fun game. Children and adults can appreciate the fun and excellence of the game. You can build anything you wish and rule anyway you wish. They've never appealed and I never played any game like this before, but after playing the demo, I decided I would buy this excellent game. The offline is very fast-paced but online is very, very, very slow. Ats about the only few problems about the game. I recommend this game to anyone young or old.
