I bought the Game Today,and jumped straight into the Multi Player Game.
First Impressions are the Excellent Graphics,Familiar Control Layout,realistic Sound effects.The Weapons are Totally Different from COD4..in so much that WW2 was fought over 60 years Ago !!..so dont expect to be blasting away at the Enemy with the latest Weapons as some people thought that they would be.This Game is set in WW2 using WW2 Weapons.This Game has been reviewed by some who have played the Beta Version,well i am playing the Official Game,and i just have to say that for Sheer Value for Money,and Game Enjoyment that this Game is Really very very good value for Money,and is going to be come a Best Seller.The Levels in the Multi Player Arena ..look and feel HUGE..again i must mention the Superb Graphics and all round Game Play experience.The Weapons do feel a little puny compared to COD4..but what the Hell,this Game certainly kicks all this Years FPS into the Rubbish Bin,and that includes the Pathetic Fallout 3..Some People are moaning that it is Not COD4 all over again,that it is because it is not MEANT to be...and we were all aware that COD5 was going to be set in WW2 and NOT Modern Day..so why did they buy the Game knowing full well the Scenarios involved and then start crying when they suddenly realised that they were back in WW2 !...Surely we should stick to reviewing COD5 and stop comparing it with COD4 which has its own reviews.

This has to be game of the year. After cod4 everyone was writing off this game but it has lived up to my expectations and it is a masterclass of and offline and online experience. its got some online technical faults at the minute but they will only last 1-2days.

buy this game if you like first person shootem ups on line it 5 stars with loads of unlocks and maps fun all the way just cant stop playing the game

I first heard about this game about 6 months ago and found out it was set in ww2 agin.I was a little dissapointed but not overly as i knew the online was going to be as brilliant as cod 4.I finally got this game on saturday the 15th and i have to say,its one hell of a game.I completed the campaign yesterday after a good 7 hours or maybe more and found it to be the most action packed and best looking ww2 game ive played.I then went online and loved it.Treyarch have done a fantastic job that beat all my expextations and i have no doubts this will be game of the year!BUY BUY BUY!!

I would tend to agree with the other posts that the step back to WW2 is a bit of a let down however I wouldnt see this as any reason to be disappointed or unsatisfied. I think that because COD4 was such a massive success and an excellent game, people have quite high expectations from the sequel. From the previews, World at War looks set to be a good edition to any COD fan's game collection. Graphically it looks very impressive and hopefully the Campaign/Story mode will offer plenty in the way of a thrilling story line just as COD4 did, although it was much too short! So far the online multiplayer looks great with the improvements to weapon perks and the ranks with rewards for prestige. With the game keeping the same engine as COD4 i think it will be a good solid COD game with plenty to offer fans but for all those people who have made their mind up that it will be nothing more than a disappointment then wait for 6th installment of COD which has been announced for release some time in 2009. (Infinity Ward have been confirmed as the developers or hepling to develop so will have the same flavour as COD4 plus plenty more hopefully.
