5 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT!!!!!!!   July 29, 2007

This is GREAT! I can just point it at the screen and the cursor appears there (or a bit below, but that doesn't matter)! Then there's the motion sensors which are also outstanding (e.g. when you`re playing tennis, you can just pretend to be holding a racket and swing your remote and your on-screen charecter (or mii) whacks the ball! There's also a speaker in the remote which makes it better (e.g on Wii play when you are playing "shooting range" when you shoot it makes a noise like a gun). There's also vibration (e.g when you're playing monster 4x4 WC when you get hit by a barrel the controller vibrates). Vibraition and the speaker can both be turned off to stop the batteries running out quite so fast. Talking about batteries, that leads us to the only bad bit: it eats batteries quite quickly.

5 out of 5 stars Best controller ever!   August 4, 2007

This really is a great controller. It gives you a sense of freedom and accuracy pretty much unmatched elsewhere. I would heartily recommend it, though i do have two pieces of advice first: 1) It uses alot of batteries, so you'll save a heck of a lot of money in the long run by buying a charger for it. 2) If you don't own 'Wii play', i'd advise buying that, as you get a controller free with it, which makes it quite a bargain.

5 out of 5 stars Played and Amazed   December 3, 2006

I recently tried this out at the Nintendo Pre-Launch Roadshow, at Meadowhall. It is bloody fantastic. It's light, it's comfortable, it fits into your hand very comfortably. I ended up playing for about half an hour in total, and my arm/arms were definately not tired. For a game such as Wii Sports, with tennis, it really immerses you in the action. Shooting games also work really well; even the Duck Hunt style games I played was very accurate. It is an amazing innovation, with 3-axis tilt sensors, accellerometers and pixel precion pointing. I have never played such a fun game.

5 out of 5 stars Finally...   December 13, 2006

...a controller that gets the wife interested in joining in, this is sheer genuis from Nintendo.

After resisting for 4 days she finally relented and had a go at Wii Sports, bowling was the game of choice.

After banishing her initial embarassment induced awkwardness (I left the room for a second!) the real fun began.

The natural movement to get bowling had her hooked, especially after the first strike.

Won't even mention the garbled phone call to her mate when she tried the boxing - suffice to say that there was no need for expensive gym membership now was mentioned.

5 out of 5 stars Want multi-player? You'll need an extra remote   July 16, 2007

Not much to 'review' really - if you want an extra remote, then you'll have to go out and buy one of these. The only other option is getting Wii Play, which includes a remote with a batch of games that will keep you occupied for a while for pretty much the same price (ie the games come free). If you've already got Wii Play though, you'll be needing one of these, and at a touch under 30 the Amazon price is among the more competitive.
