REAL FOOTBALL October 3, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Having been a fan of pro evo from the very start i have seen the series go backwards. while FIFA just keeps getting better and better. pro evo reminds me of football champ 20 years ago the animation is so poor, also feels like youre running in mud, and what the hell is that little foot shuffle just before the player passes or that massive thud every time the lead weighted ball is kicked. i could go on forever about pes fall from grace but if real football fans want a real football game theres only one choice. FIFA.
Ive played it!!! July 20, 2008 51 out of 107 found this review helpful
Lucky enough for me I was invited by my uncle who works for EA, to come to head office and try the game, absolutely quality game leaves fifa 08 for dead, pro is not even in the same universe! Its a must buy for anyone who wants to use the full potential of their hd gaming console. It really does feel like your on the pitch with Ronaldo, Kaka and Ronaldinho. The new improved gameplay enhancements mean you get realistic tackles, headers and improved first time shooting. The best feature is the physical attributes of players are taken into account, so if defoe goes in for a 50/50 with vidic, 9/10 times vidic will come out with the ball. Crouch will rarely be beaten in the air as height is now taken into account when jumping for a header. Its got to be pre-ordered!
Fifa is Taking Over September 30, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was a Pro Evo man this time last year i loved pro evo but after the last game for the PS3 i thought it was such a let down so thought i would try Fifa 08 and i was blown away it was so amazing compared to Pro Evo so now am a fifa man the game is better and its great having the actual team names, leagues and cups.
I have played this demo and it is class as i said i havent played the new pro evo but to be honest after last years game the should expect to lose a few customers. And they are now copying fifa they have a similar 'Be A Pro' mode which is a straight copy from fifa so as far as am concered Pro is looking for new ideas and cant come up with them so its copying Fifa. I think fifa is winning the football game race and there only going to get better cant wait to play the real game.
Fifa 09 vs Pro evo 2009 October 3, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just downloaded the demo for pro evo 2009 and again I'm not happy. I have always owned the latest Pro evo ever since the ps2 first came out and last year had pro evo 2008 and was gutted that fifa was looking the better choice, well the Euro 2008 one at least. Now having played both 09 versions Fifa is by far the more realistic game of footy, Pro evo is played far too fast, the ball feels unrealistic and the sound of the ball when dribbling is grating and poo. Liv and Man u official teams, and Champions league are Cool, but I'll be switching to Fifa this year and the bonus of official teams and better HD graphics. Sorry Pro Evo. Maybe next year.
Review on the FULL game and NOT the DEMO or PES! October 15, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Firstly I think that anyone reading these reviews should ignore the silly comparisons between FIFA and PES which hasn't even been released yet!! Who cares about PES? The reviews should be about FIFA and it's gameplay, not PES!! Wanna know about PES? Wait for it to come out and play it or read the reviews about it WHEN IT IS RELEASED!!
So, I have bought FIFA for the last two years and I thoroughly believe that they have done a remarkable job this year!
The layout, menus, graphics etc are all the same as last year (pretty much) but have concentrated solely on the gameplay which I believe is the most important factor of any game.
The gameplay is much faster, more responsive such as players making runs when you tell them, tackling, goal keepers getting up after making a save, passing, shooting etc. I love the fact it is all licensed teams, leagues and competitions, the crowd standing up when you have a shot on goal and the selectable goal celebrations (the little things of the game).
If you had last years FIFA and enjoyed it, I would recommend purchasing this years title because I think it is definitely much better!
