The episodes in this set are brilliant! After devouring the seasons 1-3 box set with very little other TV in between it felt good to have Starbuck, Apollo et al back! Everything is rocketing along to what should be a stunning season 5/season 4.5 finale (depending on how you're numebring. Plenty of stuff for your 25 so why wait?
The problem with the internet and product reviews is that the negative reviewers should loudest! Others have done so already but to address the main gripes:
- Numbered after Sky One's season numbering rather than America's, so not misleading, just different to what was expected. The ten episodes certainly have enough of a story arc to be called a season.
- Final episodes haven't been screened yet so how could they be included?
- Contains the 'Razor' feature-length TV movie episode so don't buy separately if you were considering. If you have Razor already (as I had) then it's still only a couple of quid per episode for the new ones! I'll give my standalone copy of 'Razor' to someone I know to get them into the series...
- If you simply have to have all the episodes in one set then wait. If you can't, buy now. Personally, I'm glad I was able to buy and enjoy these now rather than wait for another 6 months or so...
Let's face it, this is pretty much a fans-only release so do your research, shop around for best price and make your own decision to buy or wait.

Ok so this is only 10 episodes due to the writers strike... but we've seen these 10 episodes on SKY and they're awesome. Its probably why it's so cheap too compared to previous releases.
The UK release is different to the USA... i.e. here in the UK they're calling the box sets Season Four and then The Final Season.
I'm positive that is how SKY is broadcasting the seasons so this release
is not deceptive at all.
The USA are calling the releases Season 4.0 and 4.1.
I can not WAIT for the final episodes to hit our screens February...
And I can't wait to get my hands on the 10 episodes in this boxset!!
It comes with Razor as well... AND includes trailer for what we're all waiting for in February!! Pretty sure there are some deleted scenes too. PLUS.. how good is the artwork?! Amazing.

I've got the box in front of me - there is no mention of it being Season 4 Part 1 (e.g. 10 episodes). In fact the last DVD has a "Final Season Sneak Peek" - implying that there is a Season 5 (which we know there isn't).
On the bright side it does contain Razor. I have seen the first four episodes hence my five star rating. If I was to mark the distributor for their work it would be 0/5 for the way that they have presented this.

This is one of my favourite seasons of Battlestar Galactica, season 2 being the best yet in my opinion. The comments with one-star ratings are very inapproriate and misleading in relation to the quality of the show. Sure, this is actually the first half of season 4, but Playback have chosen to package it as Season 4, full stop. It's printed on the box. This isn't Amazon's fault. Rating it with one star is stupid in my opinion, especially when you read some of these "reviews", where people admit that they haven't even watched it yet!
I'd prefer to buy this as a full season boxset like the previous releases, but the fact remains that only 10 episodes have been shown this year, so they decided to release it as a boxset for fans in time for Christmas. There's no obligation to buy for people who want the full season. The remaining episodes will be released on DVD next year, after they have actually been shown on TV, and will probably be made available in several editions (maybe as season 4 part 2, or maybe they'll call it season 5 - it's the same difference - as well as being included in the inevitable complete series boxset). Just be glad the 10 episodes are available to buy now, if you think it's too pricey or whatever you don't have to buy. Personally I think it's a reasonable price, and well worth paying for. It's far better than season 3, with an amazing story arc and edge-of-your-seat action. This is must-see sci-fi.

This is the first half of a season that was interrupted by the writer's strike in the US. The second half won't even air in the US until next year, so I really think it should be judged on the quality of the show, not the number of episodes on this set.
Season 4 builds very nicely, with superb storytelling, fine acting and much tension and excitement. I can't wait for Season 4.5! The finest TV drama of the past decade for me.
