5 out of 5 stars Amazing Game!   August 18, 2008

This game is ammazing. The best fighter on PS3? No. Best Fighter On XBOX 360? No. Best Fighter ever? Yes!!! I like the fact that you can create your own character and battle with them online. Very challenging and very fun! A must have for PS3!

5 out of 5 stars Great game - 5/5   July 17, 2008

It's finally here. After what has seemed like an eternity of waiting, it's here, and not only is it a stunning achievement in terms of technical aspects (this game utilizes what the PS3 is capable of like nothing you have ever seen before), but it also conveys one of the deepest and most engrossing storylines that you will ever come across in a video game. Some of the best audio and visual presentation you will ever see in a video game. Quite frankly, this game is a gorgeous sight to behold.

5 out of 5 stars Old faithful   August 1, 2008
Fans of SC2+3 should know what to expect - same old same old - nothing much different here. Having said that, why tinker with (almost) perfection?
Story mode, arcade mode, a quest this time up and down a tower, it's all pretty familiar. More customisable than before, and enhanced damage effects mean if you hit em hard enough their clothes fall off! Still within the realms of decency of course.
Fighting styles aren't as varied as, say, Tekken (coming soon, hopefully) and mastering only a couple should see you through to the end, but what has always been special about this game (in my opinion) is it's beauty - and through HDMI on an HDTV it LOOKS amazing.
Haven't tried online yet (need to change my ISP) but this is where the REAL fun should start.
There are several new characters depending on format, but despite owning both consoles I have no intention of getting it on 360 - who on earth wants to be Yoda? On PS3 Darth Vader kicks some mean butt with some fancy moves or what about the equally hard Jedi apprentice?
A gritty blood 'n guts beat-em-up it isn't, but highly recommended if you like your violence a little more refined.

5 out of 5 stars Good but isn't quite as good as Soul Calibur 2 or 3   August 2, 2008

I have waited a long time for this game to come and finally it is here.
This game is very similar to its predecessors. However, I have found it to be slightly disappointing due to some of its features. First the Story mode is only about five stages long, and doesn't make much sense as many of the opponents are generic fighters. Secondly there is no mission mode whatsoever. Instead there is The Tower of Lost Souls mode where you ascend up many floors with many tough A.I to fight which is kind of like the Labyrinth/Dungeon sections in The Weapon Master mode of Soul Calibur 2. The A.I in this game seems to abuse Guard a lot, so when you attack, the opponent will Guard about 75% of the time which can lead to you having to abuse Throws to break their Guard.

Anyone who is new to the Soul Calibur series should probably play Soul Calibur 2 or 3 first, as there is a lack of an actual battle Tutorial in Soul Calibur 4.
This game does however offer amazing Next Generation Graphics, a decent Battle system, the ability to create your own fighter - then customise them and the other characters to your heart's content and the excellent ability to play as Darth Vader (PS3 only)
and Yoda (Xbox 360 only) from the brilliant Star Wars Franchise.
Overall this game is probably the best fighter on the PS3 at this given time and the Wifi is supposed to be great!

5 out of 5 stars W0W!   August 10, 2008
I think it is good that the game is exactly the same on both the Xbox360 and PS3, the only differents is you get yoda on the 360 and darth vader on the PS3. Also the graphics are exactly the same on both consoles, so there won't be another console graphics war, because neither side can win. But anyway i loved this game and i give it 4.5/5
