wow, what can I say! got it today, played it and its amazing.
First time ive played any of the games in the "soul" series, and to be honest its not going to be the last! if youve played Devil May or Tekken then this is the game for you! its practically a mix of the two!
the customization for the chars is sometime quite amazing too!
graphics are good and the gameplay is amazing!
A must buy for all DMC and Tekken Fans!

This game is superb, visually stunning, intricate gameplay, great character creation mode, loads of challenges and great online play. My only criticism is that online matchmaking doesn't seem to work very well and you can find yourself up against a much more experienced (or inexperienced) player which isn't much fun.

Having played most of the SC games on various machines this is up with the best ( ie SC2 ) . Having spent first couple of hours on arcade and wondering how Ivy can stand up let alone fight was very impressed. The create a character ends up experimenting with er hem hem er ladies in very little , oh well boyz will be boyz. Online can be daunting as high level players wipe the floor with you as getting up once down is nearly impossible , so it can end up a random button bash to even get on hit in .. I suppose practice and a good character is essential. So not a five star game as it can get a little repeditive but all in all a worthy purchase.Plus I hear Darth Vader will be downloadable at some point , so lucky we are mmmm ..

It is a soul calibur game, that enough gets it off to a solid start, and while I was a little underwhelmed by number three those short comings are sorted out here. The game is much the same as before and the usual faes return. The Online mode which I am yet to try out is what gets me most excited, and the character creation element allows you to create and customise characters who are on par with the standard characters. The best fighting game has returned, and as for the yoda darth vader thing, well I hear that darth vader will be avcailable via xbox live. I hope this is true, cos as much fun as it is playing as yoda he doesn't have the cool factor of vader.

Please people.If you want to rant about the game having star wars characters in it.Sign up to one of the many forums catered to video games discussion and vent your biased and uninformative views there please.
I like reading peoples insights into games on that space underneath the buying parts. Dont ruin it with "Yoda is teh suxxxxx we want Vader" rubbish.

As for my view on this game.
Personally I find it alot of fun and its a very good continuation of the series.
The new characters manage to hang with the old ones in a respectable manner (I feel like i've known Hilde all my life ;).
The guest star wars characters feel a little out of place but they aren't jarring to play as or against.Dont really add much to the overall fun (unless your a big Star Wars fan).
One thing i do miss is the old game modes from Soul Calibur 2. Alot of them have been intergrated into the available Modes (I miss team battles the most). Also there are a couple of balance issues, but they probably wont affect you unless you're really hardcore.
If you like Fighting games, or like breast physics. Pick it up!
